Sometimes we win...

And sometimes we learn...

We were all created for betterment

For others...

And ourselves...

Somebody needs what you have

And we need what they give

A smile...

Love...

Encouragement...

And a deep embrace...

Change is always hard at first

It's a journey taken

It's allowance and acceptance

We work with the moments

It's discovery of the time given

The realization of here and now

Existence is feet moving forward

There is no going back

For we do not merely recover

But reinvent ourselves...

Allowing change is the difference

Because life is learning

The remembrance in effort

We are the fire burning bright

No matter how dark the night

We will find enough light

To take the next step

One moment at a time

Enjoying the good

Breathing through the rest

Fill up your lungs with hope and courage

Rise up...

Like the beginning of everyday

Because to survive...

Is to flourish beyond these moments.

"Today and Yesterday"

 

Sometimes the world is not what we thought...

It's everything and nothing...

From the glory days...

To ones better off not remembered with such intensity

How easily do we seem to forget...

That we do need little reminders

It only takes a second to say...

I love you...

I apologize...

Can we talk?

Are you alright?

It costs nothing to offer such a simple kindness

Stop letting pride or ego

Hold you hostage from happiness in life

We have all too often drown within silence

And the words we weren't saying

It's the things that are left unsaid that take up the most space within our minds and hearts

Is what you are holding onto worth the space?

We cannot fight the battles for others

But what we can do is hold their hand

Offering a light in the darkness

Holding a safe space...

As they weather the storm

We are these moments

Here and now...

Survived...

Learned and living

Experiences gained

Embraced by the senses

We are a fleck of stardust in a world of imagination

Existence and reality

All in a moment

And then its gone

So don't let yesterday...

Take up too much of your today.

"Where You Left Me"

What is remembered is lived...

You never know...

The true impact you have on those around you

How much a person needed a smile given

Or an act of simple kindness offered...

A single moment that can turn a life around

And when words fall short

A deep embrace talks

Everything can be nothing...

And one single solitary thought can be the entire world

When the great weight of emotions fall upon us

Devastation of a moment sends shivers to the core

We are changed...

A marker in history

When the world paused around us

Stealing our breath

Releasing the strength in glue

All that keeps us together is broken...

An earthquake is felt throughout the soul

The odd thought of being thankful flashes through

To bear witness...

A final honour guard standing post

We are the legacy that remains

The living proof of existence

Time is the caregiver now...

As we navigate this loss

Everything seems different

While other things remain the same

It's complication and confusion at the root of definition

For a piece of us is forever broken

A single second always remembered

The greater the love, the greater the grief...

Remember that its okay to be sad

It's the realization in growth of the moments that follow

Allowance and acceptance

Through this feelings will flow

In Tears...

How our heart speaks...

When our lips cannot explain how we feel...

Sometimes...

You just have to turn the page...

To realize there is more to existence

To this day...

Than this moment you are experiencing

You don't hurt someone you want to keep

You do right by them

Then fate has to decide...

If they get to stay...

Or leave...

Even though the fog of confusion can be heavy

Like any storm...

This to shall pass

Sadly, for some...

The darkness does not end with the night

Please, remember the light...

Stop allowing fear to dictate the direction of life

Release the heaviness...

The wrong conviction remembered

Your past is written

You deserve more than trying to correct it

Survival is motion forward

A step at a time

A future awaiting to be created

There is remembrance in everything

What was once thought would break you...

May actually be the universe trying to wake you

To see what it real

And worth fighting for

We are all continued works in progress

A life long endeavor

It takes time to heal...

And courage

Because just like the sun...

We all have the power within us...

To rise after the darkness.

These moments now embrace us bittersweet...

We have now learned about the fragile and slender thread...

Which separates life and death

It's that breath taking suddenness...

As this new reality hits...

All that has come before this seems irrevocably broken...

Heads hang in mourning...

Sorrow is the price and debt we owe for loving you so much

Grief is the tax we pay for having the privilege of sharing in your life

What a strange and heavy burden the bonds of love lay upon our hearts

Yet, we carry the heaviness...

Like soldiers standing honour

You taught us this...

In remembrance you now live

Celebrating the dear and treasured memories past

Tears well and fall...

Our shapeless pieces of prayer whisper to you

There is no right time that we would have set for parting with you

Our hearts are ingrained with these moments of existence

Embracing our soul...

To the coming of day

For we, your legacy carry on

Living the seasons

Each morning at day break

Through the stillness in the deep of winter white

And the birth of spring coming

For death has not extinguished all of the light...

It has only turned them out because dawn has come...

Missing you won't be easy

But this we must do...

For we are here...

And you are there...

Now bigger than the sky

And underneath the moon

Forever and always watching over us

And the land where your crops once grew...

The days have gathered

Moments have been counted

Many forever treasured...

Some wished to be forgotten...

A year like no other

Humanity challenged...

A world changed by every definition

With a daily reminder of remembrance

For all that we have been through

To where we stand now...

New lessons learned

Challenging the experiences gained

Against all that which we do not know

The dividing line and the balance

Time and reflection

The will of survival

The light of hope held and given

To be greater than what we suffer

May inspiration lead us to a new appreciation found

Hold strong to your embrace in conviction...

Remember always...

You are not the darkness endured...

You are the light that refused to surrender

We are existence

The root to our soul of being

For we are only a moment...

And then it's gone...

"Space Between Us"

 

Sometimes...

We are pushed...

Beyond what our boundaries and limitations can bare

We are only human

Caution can be given

Good will can be stressed

But when all trust is broken...

After all warning given...

There is no returning to where things use to be

Giving up is not easy...

It takes great moments of realization found...

To choose the decision of abandonment

Acknowledging that which you have outgrown

Even though it has been part of your life for so long

There comes a time...

When the understanding is not realized or embraced

The cost and toll it takes from a being

Brings endless actions betrayed

That cannot be repaid by a simple, “I'm Sorry...”

Especially when endless chances were given

Unlimited acceptance offered

From a heart that gave to much of itself

Allowances now owe debts

Sadness has taken root

Deep within the broken

The length of grace has run short

What more is there to sacrifice?

What are the odds of survival?

Is compromise surrendering?

How do you make the choice?

When someone does it on your behalf

By not choosing you...
