Shattered...

Even more than you have ever been before

The life you knew...

Now a thousand pieces

Words fall short

As you pray here down upon your knees

Let these moments gather in reflection

Even if it begins as a whisper

Tell your heart its OK to beat again

Close your eyes and breath in the wind of change

Yesterday was a closing door

An you no longer live there anymore

Now is the point of existence

You are still strong

Hold yourself together

Don't stop...

This is healing...

It doesn't have to be pretty or graceful

Just keep going...

Upon the horizon there is a new dawn

A day with many moments ahead

Let shadows fall

Embrace the sunlight once again

Find your feet

Take step one...

On this new road

To the person you want to be

For hope leads to belief

And conviction found.

"A Days Beginning"

Dawn approaches softly

Smooth and silent the thick blackness begins to separate

The bright glowing stars have now begun to fade

The path leading to the heavens is closed until the next twilight

A mist of fog floats over the waters edge

The smell of the leaves of autumn suffuse my nose

A tiny shred of light breaks

As if out of no where

The earth opens its arms, welcoming the approaching new day

Everything is in slow motion

Its like natures picture show

A symphony for the eyes to behold

Blue hue colours smug through the thick veil of velvet black

Seeping across the sky

Bright colours appear, merge, and mix randomly

Bold streaks now line the horizon

Wisps of cloud are now illuminated

Like a water droplet upon a piece of paper written with ink

The vibrant colours of the rainbow bleed across the canvass of the sky

I listen to the sounds of the ripples of the water lapping against the rocky shore at my feet

With each break there is a memory

And another made anew to be recalled upon on another day

Looking within...

Through the eyes of love...

I think of you...

My long lost...

Because like the night, you have faded from me too

I smile at the fondness remembered

But like every contrasting moment

The former bitterness of a love lost still leaves a residual stain

But I subside my emotions and surrender myself to this moment

Here I am at peace

Treasuring the sublime paltry partial remains

That are just enough to hold me, yet let me move on

Because you are now part of my past

And just like the sunrise before me

This to shall pass.

"Parts Of Our Story"

I could feel the colour run...

As it faded from my face

With the blinking of an eye

My view changed

And shadows grew...

Questions became a daily existence

Confused moments added together

Tearing away pieces of my sanity

Heartbeats follow footsteps

The light emerged

Casting its way through the darkness

Life had been put on hold for far too long

Held hostage to what could have been...

The signs came...

Realizations were made

Strength gained was a voice found

Power is now that voice used

And I could not break myself in half

Just to try and save a few parts of you

I am living my truth

Without your blurred vision and lies

You never understood my words spoken

Making my silence fall upon deaf ears

I release myself from staying with you for as long as I did

I was torn between not giving up on the person I loved

And coming to terms with the fact that the person I loved no longer existed...

It pains the heart to tell the mind this

It takes a while to believe

That sometimes we have to give up on people

Not because we don't care anymore...

But because they don't...

Its up to us to find the conviction within

Knowing that its not the end of our life

Its simply the end of their part within our story

Making them now...

The past...

A ghost that never was.

"In Memory and Remembrance"

As dawn quietly breaks

The morning unfurls its gray wash over the flat countryside

A light mist seems to drift over the fields

As we come together on this day...

Many of us with dark circles, puffy eyes, and grief stricken hearts

We struggle with one of the worst parts about life

Saying the final goodbye...

Today, we have an official invitation to the dance of life

United we stand as one

And collectively we mourn...

May the boldness in our tears lend us the courage to transcend cynicism and fear

As hard as it is, our vision of the world, now changed

Should not alter...

Let this be the spark to re-light the fire within us all

Our spirit, and that of the ones we love can never be extinguished

In fond memory and deep remembrance we will fan the flame of those who have been lost

Because sometimes, all that we can ever do is try...

Try to make a difference in a world filled with so many differences

To try and change with a world full of so many changes

And to forever remember always

That tomorrow is never promised...

Life unfortunately reminds us of this today...

"With This Day"

It starts...

One little thing

The beginning...

A single seed planted

It grows...

Moments gather together

Thoughts play out

The hours of the day already grow long

Strength needed is sourced out and put into play

Building blocks of a wall are constructed

Eyes search for the exit

Scenario by scenario runs through the mind

All upon a continuous loop

Decisions and choices

Between what is right...

And what is easy

Doubt draws near like fog filling in thick

Confusion gives way to sadness

Anger is the by-product of everything left over

These are the moments when thoughts pause

Fight or flight...

You remind yourself that its just a bad few moments or hours

A bad day that needs to be done

It comes down to the ultimate choice

Though I do not surrender completely...

I am more than finished with this day

For it has taken from me...

More than I can give.

Time stands upon a moment

Memories realize the true length of a single second

The surge

The push...

A constant forward motion

The heartbeat of life

A collection of emotions

A fire within the soul

Beings filled with light of infinity

Can cast so many shadows

Redefining darkness

We drive ourselves with blind vision

To places we do not wish

Understanding fails

Changing all

Words repeat

Silence speaks volumes

Deafening is the noise that can't be claimed

We are the keeper of this

The one who defines

Nurtures and consoles

We tend to keep more weeds in the garden of life that we do flowers

For our belief in them is skeptical

Based on a lie told to us once some time ago

We are everything that is nothing

Embraced by hope and faith we care

To the lengths of the earth we defend

All that which exists here before us...

Now...

"Take Away"

Sometimes we pull ourselves apart...

Ripping ourselves to pieces by the senses

In a desperate hope held

That we...

In some way, shape, or form can cure ourselves of these emotions and feelings

We do so by withdrawing...

Over and over again

To repay a debt we believe we owe

Sometimes we are so eager to kill the pain...

We take away the love and joy

The light from the dark...

Pushing ourselves to the brink

The very edge of bankruptcy

To make ourselves feel nothing

Just so we don't have to feel anything

Is like death while living

Please remember...

Our hearts and bodies are only given to us once

Truth resides amongst freedom

Don't suffocate yourself inside a box that you cannot exist in

Colour outside the lines

Live

You were born to stand out

Let hope lead you to conviction found

Because faith would not be faith...

If you only believed in it when things were good.
