Those moments...

The bitter taste of all that was

Cause words to escape from my lips

Wondering if the right decisions were made

I guess that is where regret usually begins

Visions of memories reflected upon

Plague the minds eye

Empty space within my heart call with longing

The fire within burns with conflict

Because in the end...

I could not afford the cost of loving you

In this hour of time

I break my steadfast resolve

That missing you comes in waves...

And right now...

I am drowning.

Head hung low in mourning

The wave of deep sadness washes over you

Slow at first...

Then to a steady surging stream of emotions flow

The realization builds with every beat of the heart

That devastation is no longer a word

It now has taken up residence within you

And has borrowed your name

Through whispered pieces of broken prayer

You filter through memories...

For all the moments lost

And the ones that will never be made

Wishing time could reverse

You would go back

And do so much more...

But in the searching of the time line of life

Unknown to you, a certainty holds you

Faith keeps you moving

And hope holds you

Just because the one you loved is now out of sight

Does not mean they can be or will ever be erased from your mind

Because they are with you

Watching all of us from the heavens

Those whom we love and lost...

Are no longer where they were before in our lives

Because they are now wherever we are

Carried within our being

Until we all meet again in that divine place above

When angles lead us in.

Confusion and doubt

The greatest plague of the mind

Jagged tears burn the eyes

Its a weird feeling...

When you realize the person you once told everything to

Now has no idea what is happening in your life...

Friends to strangers

Disconnect of communication

Leads you blindly forth

The claim to right leaves another wrong

And lines are drawn

Good people give you happiness

Bad give you experiences and lessons learned

The best kind of people give you memories

The ones that sometimes bring you tears when remembered

Breaking the promise made

A constant battle had

To also remember...

To forget today.

Memories scream...

Trembling hands attempt to hold on

Embracing the pieces that remain

Thoughts refuse to connect

Abandoned and lost within the moments

Because sometimes its not that people change

Its that the mask falls off...

You had me with your words, but lost me with your actions

I walked away because you were to busy finding faults in me...

All the while I was busy over looking yours

So stop asking my heart to trust you again

For I am still coughing up water...

From the last time you let me drown.

This is us...

Standing together alone

In the same place

But unfortunately, not upon the same page

Related by thought

Held together by emotion

An unseen bond

With a longing that has grown

Between the lines and words not spoken

Stolen glances add together

Body language speaks volumes and conversations

I believe in the moment

The connection that has come naturally

I reach out...

Even though hesitation lingers within your hands

Scared are the actions you wish to take

The story is told by the deep pain within your eyes

I see the true you...

That is why I am still here

Holding out hope

A promise made

To be that light you seek...

These are the moments

Each breath...

The in's and out's

Ups and downs

All steps taken

What has been given

And that which has been taken away...

This is our path

Of our making and creation

From what has been brought forth by us

As well as against us

We are in control of how bright we shine

Or how much we allow others to dim our radiance

We are our choices and actions

But we are not our thoughts

The sun will rise...

And set...

Reminding us that there is beauty in ending

And that light always follows darkness

Its our will and conviction to not forget this

To live the moments of our daily lives

Each day is given

But not promised...

Trust in the wisdom of those who have gone before us

Heed the warnings

Trust your truth

And above all else

Believe in you.

At year end

These are the days counted

Filled to the brim with moments

Added... Remembered... Divided and decided...

Never regret the ones that made your heart smile

Remember the ones that taught you lessons learned

Life is forever the teacher

And we are the learning student

Be present... Be now...

Fan the flame of connections made

Rise above the moments that hold us still

For we must be more than what we suffer...

As we bare reflection to moments passed

There comes a time when there are no words of description to be had...

Or actions made...

Sometimes, one must simply stand beside another being...

Honoring their presence

By keeping a deep embrace waiting when needed

Whether its solace... A memory... Inspiration... Or validation...

Approach these moments with vigor, passion, and conviction

Give it your life

Its our story

The way we are made

And how we got to where we are today

So if a moment is all you got...

Then let shine bright your inner light

As we exist within the moments lived through the seasons.
