"Merely Moments"

Its that single moment of something new

A promise...

Hope given...

Chances wouldn't be what they are if we were not brave enough to take them

An eagerness pursues the space between two souls

The warm and swift uplifting rush floods in

Its the little things...

That are not so little...

The connections made sewn together

Illuminate the light growing from within

Here begins the life of a new day

Under the lightest of touch

The sun rises

You lose your breath

Eyes hold the motion as they enter the room

Your heart beats faster as they walk towards you

Skin tingles as you stand close enough to feel their breath upon you

Making you realize the true meaning

Is one moment merely just that?

Or is it 60 seconds of endless possibilities?

"Right Here..."

You wake up at dawn with such a feeling

There is such a sense and presence of possibility

You wonder...

This is what it must feel like

This is the beginning of happiness standing before you

Waiting...

This is where it all starts

And you promise yourself much more

But in all of your imagining...

It had never occurred to you that this was entirely true

You were wrong to be misled

Happiness was not the next step forward

Nor was it the path that you needed to take

It was already here

Slowly growing

Ingrained within your essence

Surrounding you peacefully smooth

At this very moment

In every breath

Right now

Living.

"All That Can Be..."

Its there...

Beneath the skin

Hiding from the light of day

Coursing through fragile veins

It can turn the comfortably sweetness of life sour

Seeping in through the cracks of abandonment

It hits without warning...

Digging deep into the depths of the soul

This invisible force carries such power

It steals through the living moments

Staining all happiness

Taking the will of life...

The voice to call out

And even the name we give our being fades...

Memories fail at remembrance

The final defense against invasion turns the tides

A war within breaks out

Feelings turn blind

Emotions run fast

The dull ache gambles with all that can be broken

The world pulls at tender skin

Tears fall from this newly worn mask

Trembling fingers wipe away tears

Hands reach out screaming

Boundaries drawn out of fear

Now become the walls built beyond the comprehension of sight

A prison of blackness...

A cage of depression...

Here at the edge

Time stops...

Feet barely hold their ground

The mirror within bares witness

A reflection of life in transition

Reality is existence...

Its in plain view...

The question now is...

Will you let it choose you?

Or consume you?

Moments...

Days....

Common threads within life sew us together

Laughter...

Happiness...

The sparkle of life is lit within the eyes

Souls healed

Hearts touched

Plans made

Years grow

Tenderness held

A love embraces the lingering hug

Want...

Need...

The mind links together the pieces

The truth is in the knowing

And it has come to be known well

That “just friends” don't simply look at one another like this...

You are the words I write...

Walk slowly to me...

Come softly like a whisper

And stay like a promise

I see you as you see me

The good with the bad

Light and the dark...

And that is why I love you

Your voice is a beacon calling to my heart

I have found a home safely within your arms

Where time embraces us with memories made

Connected from within

We are us

And as long as I have breath in my lungs to speak your name

I will love you...

In perfectly perfect

Completely

And always.

"Between Truth And Lie"

All reason has fled

Compassion...

Kindness...

Respect...

The cold bite of abandonment stings deep

Piercing my already numb heart

Words fail to form upon my tongue

Quivering lips barely contain a whimper...

Thoughts are thick

Heavy with weight

Dragging their way through the corridors of my mind

Empty memories vanish

Leaving holes in time already played

A brief history made, now erased

Unanswered questions mock my resolve to move on

Passed the blood shed

My senses sift through the sentences told

Between truth and lie...

But a line cannot be found

Who knew happiness could spell out hell lived so quickly...

Tears call out to a person who no longer exists

Finger prints left stain my skin

The last mark your touch ever made

All things built

Now burnt out ruin

All of this feels more like a crime scene rather than love lost

This is the nameless grave dug for my heart

Buried deep beneath an unmarked stone...

"Worth The Fight"

Your eyes hold in a fixed gaze

Waist deep in the turmoil of life

You wade through the turbulent waters

A river of tears flow freely from within

There is no stopping the flood

Anger

Pain

Confusion

Depression boils out from the cracks within the surface

Nothing can be hidden form the eyes of the world

For all has become bigger than yourself

Its grown beyond your world

And almost past the realm of understanding

How do you find yourself here?

Abandonment has come to pass

From the only safe harbor you once knew

Footsteps have led you to this place of darkness

Now filled with too many empty corners where sunlight no longer shines

Destination unknown

But what is...?

One must embrace those things that are

We are more than our mistakes

Breath into and though the moments

Sometimes life takes its own path

We must do our best to hang on

Hold on and reach out

Because when we rise together

Strength is found in numbers.
