"Permission To Love"

Beneath the evening sky we meet
The grass, heavy with dew
Whispers underneath our feet as we walk side by side
The night hold us
Guided by the stars above
The moonlight traces your arched brow
It outlines the top of your lip, and the curve of your jaw
Delicately you place your hand upon my shadowed cheek
I feel the presence deep within my core
The touch burns though my nerves
In a moment of possession you pull me close
The fierce warmth surges through my body
Your heart pounds beneath the palm of my hand
I sigh... and yield to your sweet lips
The rapture between us blossoms bright
A peacefulness runs though me like a strong current of water
As I give my head full permission to follow my heart.

"Setting Love Free"

The rain falls gently down upon his pale and mournful face washing away his tears
He walks slowly down the gravel pathway towards the grave
With one foot in front of the other he is forced to move on
The stone stands rigid in a shaded place
The heaviness begins to settle in
Suddenly he drops to his knee's as every ounce of strength drains from him
The church bells ring and echo high above him in the stale air
The rain soaks through his clothes, numbing his skin
The coldness doesn't even take away the pain
He reaches out with his trembling hand and places it on the mound of fresh dug earth
The magnitude of his loss is overwhelming
With his finger he traces out the letters and the date carved on the polished stone
At any time he would trade places with the one who lays silent
The one who lies before him will miss out on the beauty of the light upon this earth
He suffers from the worst kind of pain
He points to the empty sky in anger
He prays for an angel to help him through this
He doesn't want to be alone
He has no one to help him carry his grief and pain
He refuses to cry a tear
He bottles it all up inside of him until it drives him insane
The air is wet and heavy
The tall oak tree's seem to bow down to the tombstones around them
As though mourning all of the fragile souls that have been caught in the hands of fate
He places a rose gently upon the soil
He slowly closes his eyes as memories come flooding in over loading his senses
His will breaks and his tears flow freely down his face
He holds himself in a tight embrace and whispers upon the wind,
"I set you free...so rest in peace..."

"I'm Tired..."

Tired is my state of being
From words that have gone unsaid
By the actions not taken
And the moments not returned
I'm tired of the lies
The abandonment...
And all of the hurt
I'm tired of the heartbreak
The let down
And the emotions that go unresolved
I'm tired of the broken dreams
Of picking up the pieces of me...
And the lack of any chance given
I'm tired of being tired...
For I knew finding love would be hard
I just never thought it would be like this...
I deeply wish being found was as easy as being lost seems to be...
I'm tired after each days end
I'm tired of never seeming to be good enough...
Even though I know I am.

"Within The Lines"

I look at you...
And see you
The being hidden deep within
A reflection of parts of me
Reaching out...
Wanting to connect
Emotions and feelings
Some only are known by the senses
While others can't so easily be obscured
Honest moments build and pass
We are more a like than we are different
Brave is your curiosity...
But your actions lack conviction
Silence weighs heavy under the words left unsaid
My every wish for your being is to be free...
From the secrets that you haven't told
Don't push me away...
Then wonder where I went
I am here...
Waiting...
Arms wide open...
Holding out hope...
But I cannot embrace, “maybe or I don't know...”
So I must surrender to what is...
And what I know now
That until you are ready to receive anything I have to give...
I will continue to hide you within the lines of my poetry.

"Sunlight Heart"

Through the dark clouds sunlight breaks
Just as your heart opens
You are found
Holding your own
Brave...
Strong...
Ready to set your soul free
Choices done
Life decided
Optimistic...
And real
One breath...
One moment...
Another step forth
All work and effort...
Tears and blood...
Worth the sacrifice
The journey to find happiness
To be able to stand here upon your own two feet
Free.

"All That You Have"

Pause...
Be still...
Be silent...
Take a second for you
Breath in...
Exhale...
Even if its all that you have to give today
Embrace this moment for you...
We are not perfect beings
Find comfort in knowing we are all continued works in progress
Learning...
Healing...
Changing...
Adapting...
Who are we to judge
How we are fixing what others or life has broken within us
Our happiness found or gained
Should not fall under any sort of shame
Sometimes its not about right or wrong
Or whats right and what is easy
More times enough its about validation
Its that calming embrace found deep within the words, “I understand”
When a helping hand holds you still
Wiping away your endless tears
We are the care givers of our humanity
The worth invested
And the debt taken...
All that is received or put out into the world
Making us the reflection of our true desires needed
Because life....
In all its various moments
Is meant for existence.

"Its There"

The words...
The weight...
Of sentences gone unspoken
Now are the chains that bind you
And the confinement that you live within
Struggles of emotions and feelings
Its there...
Ever present
An unpleasant daily reminder
Of a battle that wages between thoughts
The path the heart and soul wish to lead
And the vision from what the world sees
Its there...
Confusion causes moments of darkness
A heavy embrace you wish not to bare
Especially when all that you want to do is live within the light
Even though bravery can be seen
Its existence is just beyond the horizon
Its there...
Awaiting your eager reach
Like a new dawn of a new day
It carries the sharp and exhilarating feeling of crisp air drawn in
Its a long awaited breath of ease and comfort
To no longer be numb from the devastation of turmoil
It there...
Holding out hope
With faith in action
Conviction and belief
And a heart open and full of understanding
There is decisions to be made
The compass within points true north
Strong and free
Its there...
Just like those of us who love and care
We stand in unity with you
A helping hand reaching out... always
When needed or called upon
For all the hours and moments
Day or night
Its there.
