"Worth In Effort"

Sometimes...

Good intentions do not translate well into action

Sometimes...

Its not about where you are

But who you are with

The most important is

That you are here with me

Equal

All upon the same page

Facing the world together

Not standing together alone

There is strength in numbers

We all know to well

Divided we fall

No one ever said it was easy

Though in some moments

You do not realize that it would be this hard

Then again...

If we weren't so afraid to let go

Then we wouldn't feel so free when we finally did

I pray for your found strength

That you are brave enough to realize

Hands are for holding

Giving hope

Arms are for action

And a tender embrace

We are more alike than we are different

With all of the thoughts in the world

I to share your journey

Keeping here in this place

Happiness is always worth the effort

Now I plead for you to have the strength

As I wait...

For what is to come

I realize the true length within a moment.

People are not the subtotal of what we see...

Good intentions in thought

Its that dream we all have

Time to time...

Or every night

When you try to run away

But your feet are frozen to the ground

Or when you part your lips to scream

But cannot...

You use to try...

To speak up

Act out

But there is nothing...

Silence embraces you

I am here by your side to remind you

Maybe that future that you seek and hold onto

Is so unclear for the simple fact that it has not been written yet

Anything can happen

Because nothing happens all the time

Stand firm to your convictions

Because if we weren't so afraid to let go

Then we wouldn't feel so free when we finally did.

"Brave Heart"

Sometimes...

Some thoughts seem so foreign

Because they enter your head so automatically

Your first thought is to fight it

Because when some words don't seem like enough

Maybe it simply means you have more to say with others

Sadness...

Loneliness...

Pain...

Depression...

Can be skillfully covered up by a smile

Hidden from the all knowing eye

But brave are those souls who open their lives and hearts to others

Its an honored gift to receive

Proud is the friendship that holds such precious council

Shift your view

Realign your choices

Mix the sentences together

Search for a new outcome

Another meaning hidden there

Maybe its not darkness in your heart

Maybe its the past finally leaving you at peace

Creating an emptiness to be filled up with new life

And the warmth of the sun light.

"Identity"

There is already enough sadness and dramatics in the world without adding to it

We all suffer form the universal struggle for an authentic life

In the search for identity

And the importance of making a commitment to our life is so great

We may lose ourselves a little along the way

Because life is not only about finding ourselves

Its about creating ones self

Many times over we could have quit

Given it all up

Accepted the darkness

And taking less than what we deserve

Surrendering to the void

Yet we fight...

The choice is survival

Following that flame deep inside us

That never burns out

Our actions and choices are the pen we use to write our lives upon the pages of history

We are not the sum of our wrong choices made

Words from one moment to the next should be just that

New ones have yet to find your voice

So remember always...

With all of your being...

Don't let who you are define you

Or confine you

We are only human

You are not alone

You deserve to be happy

For love is a human right

So love yourself first

And without any question.

"Fail To See"

Words linger

Moments pause

I look upon the person before me

I wonder how these feelings have come to pass

That the face I see belongs to someone I use to know

Vision blurred

My eyes fail me

I am unable to pin point exactly where things changed

Like a lot of things in life

If its not suddenly...

Then its so gradual

You barely notice

Maybe its something I chose not to truly see

Never-the-less, I am found here

Searching for the proper action to take

Emotions are heavy

Bonds of friendship flex

They are about to show their true test of strength

My words fumble...

My hands can barely hold onto the change

Stronger labels such as hate need not apply

Though I am fully disappointment with you turning into everything you said you would never be..

Conversations have turned

You now talk at me

Instead of to me

And fail to see the difference there

As I remind you once again...

Acceptance is nothing without acknowledgment.

"Spirit Of Christmas"

As the seasons transition from one to the next

We find ourselves here

Another year soon gone

A new one about to begin

Time continues to do what it does best... move on...

Days and months have merged together

So many moments of life gathered up

Adding to our memories

Golden treasures of the heart

Keeping the soul warm and our life rich

This holiday season reach out to those who may be reaching

But are not brave enough to ask for a helping hand

Mend the broken bonds torn by pride

Reconnect with those we have passed by upon the path of life

Take a few moments for yourself

Breath...

Reflect...

To do those things you rarely do

Make a promise to yourself and others

To laugh more

To smile

Find inspiration in the little things

Because they are usually the first things we forget

Let the spirit of Christmas fill you

Count the blessings of life

Honor those who are no longer with us with deep remembrance

Stand united and celebrate as one

Pull into you the warmth, happiness, and light

Peace to you this twenty-fifth of December

Mixed with laughter and special times

Shared with family and friends

"The Line Of Life"

We are the sum of all the multiple choices we make

Some day to day

Others for survival...

A few others are not so easy...

The daily grind can hit you hard

A few steps may turn into a climb

Footsteps may falter

When your pushed and pulled to the brink of madness

The edge of no where appears

Numb to the core

And a cure seems so out of reach

You will grasp onto anything to calm the emotional hurricane raging within

As you desperately look for a mast to anchor yourself to

To throw a block underneath you

Anything to stop the erosion

With remembrance and survival in the fore front of your mind

Life is worth the fight

Let the guardian angel above you embrace you

And the devil within release you

Be part of the many movements that are life

Around your heart is where you should draw the line

A safe guard, just in case

Though be forever mindful not to put more barriers or road blocks in the way

Be proud of the person you know yourself to be

Please do not hate yourself to be loved by another

Because if you leave life to others to live

Happiness will be forever fleeting

Fix and create your own

And you will know the path to take

Learning some of the life lessons you need to know along the way

We are all stories in the book of life

Think of how you would like your life to be told

And to be read.
