"All In A breath"

Suddenly...

That moment...

The realization hits

A single tear falls

Betraying my will to hold it in

Emotions do their best to flood my senses

The sharp edge of a gasp

Like shattered glass

Steals my breath

A steady silence comes calling

A still embrace

Light fades...

Lost within the darkness that has moved over me

It wears like a heavy blanket

The truth chases away any lingering happiness

No sense in asking questions

When all that follows are lies

This, simply put...

Is an ugly part of life

Breaking something that once was solid

Pulling the thread that has come loose

Watching a beautiful tapestry woven shred

Eaten away by the acid of words not spoken

All vanishes before the waking eye

As communication breaks

So do the heart strings supporting itself

Piece by piece chaos digs its claws in

Holding hostage the life I had come to know

With such heartache

It seems like life now solely exists upon the head of a pin

I have to remind myself to breath easy

To pull in the calming air

So I don't lose myself with in my thoughts

And be consumed by the deeper parts of such twisted darkness

I force myself to pause

Hold tight to my being

And exhale slowly...

"Life Committed"

Life is not the easiest thing to commit to

It has its moments that test you

Bend you...

Yet, you do not break

You survive

Because deep down you know that giving up only seems easy

Because its surrendering

You remind yourself to be stronger than hate

Looking back often brings you back

To the beginning of a moment

Personal safety should not be an option

And one should not view it as such

We are all creatures of habit

But when said habit denies us human connection, respect, friendship or love

Its time for a moment of pause, reflection and decision

Live your true truth

Be not afraid to ask or say the words, “I need a friend”

Fight sad tears with laughter

And laugh until you are in tears of happiness

Simply be the best you
Remembering that people may forget what you said

And what you did to help them out

But people will never forget how you made them feel

So lead with best intentions

Love

Friendship

Hope

And faith

As you lay down your foot prints upon life

And exist.

Faded

Shaded

Bold

Connection links together a vision with creativity

An unseen muse

Art in the making

Sculpted by thought

By emotion

With subtle curves

Sharp corners

Twists and bends

Life is added

Details perfected

Lines become fluid

Finding the balance between darkness and light

To keep treasured

Or forever erased

Are all thoughts in motion

All upon the tip of a pencil.

With lips quivering

You ask...

Please hold me tight

Embrace me like never before

I feel so lost...

Some days emotions almost consume me

Because how do you carry the weight of the entire world

When you only have to hands?

I try my best to tell you that life is a balance

Positive

Negative

Happy

Sad...

Maybe you spend more time on one side than the other

But life is full of change

The hands of time are always moving

Sometimes, dreams are not made, but won

There will be times, what comes to pass is not what you envisioned for yourself

But it ends up being better than what you could have asked for

Smile at the fact that I get to see the real you

And it doesn't scare me

It makes me want to embrace you

Remembering always

That there is a world beyond these difficult moments that hold you here and now

And its called life.

Like anything new in life

You're cautious

You warn yourself

Trying to prepare for anything and everything

You anticipate the new moments

The rush of excitement

You wait upon baited breath

As you exist through your senses

Within every vibrant moment

Because there is no better feeling

Than meeting some one new

Who leaves you inspired.

Not to many things in life are clear cut

Many are faded

Blacked out

They scream to be unearthed

While others have sprung forth to the light

Basking in the open air

Taking in the full range of life’s emotions

Life is complicated

We cannot avoid it by not living

The fear of love should not prevent you from feeling it

Yes, there are simple moments

Embraced with tenderness

Enforced by warmth, pure joy, and laughter that holds you

But if the world was all that easy

It wouldn't be the reality we know

And honestly, I don't think it would be worth living

So when words can't be spoken

Let actions speak for you

Simply try to do your best

Because when communication falls

No one likes to be abandoned

Or left behind

And no one likes that feeling of hunting someone down

When they are doing nothing to be found

So be here

Now

We are this moment

As hard as it is

Live it

Because life is filled to the brim with so many different moments

And some of them can happen so suddenly

That they take your breath away.

It begins all upon a thought

A whirlwind of action

Like a thunderstorm breaking

Or a hurricane breaching the the shore line

The dark clouds part

The sun shines bright

Darkness and light mix together

All at its peak

The surge...

You wrestle it down and the words begin to flow

Quick and swift

Smooth and hard

Beaten, raw, and bleeding

Softly, elegantly they assemble themselves in order

Like building a rose peddle

Or constructing a great tapestry of your being

The soul broken open

Existing purely within the moment

Words travel from head to hand at lightening speed

Words harsh

Words of scorn

Or a sweet love

And tenderness

Some how these movements make sense of it all

From beginning, middle, to end

You know that these words are your own

And you are better off for writing them

For experience learned

To live the truth within

Seeking the wisdom they embrace

And to own every ounce of them.
