"Leaves Its Mark"

You are every moment...

All that has built you to now...

Even all that has tried to destroy you...

And the scares are proof that you showed up within life...

Existed...

Experienced it to full measure...

And fought back...

Sometimes you don't want to let go things until the bitter end

Even the pain...

Because that is the last link to what you have lost

The realization comes to you now that you are destined to repeat what is not repaired

Whether its a bad habit, unresolved issues, or a past mistake

Turning a blind eye to it only keeps your being stuck within the same loop

As difficult as it may be, face what needs fixing, and move forward passed it

Growth can only happen when you take action and allow it

You can't be everything to everyone, and nothing to yourself

Heal to the best of your ability, so you can hear whats being said without the filter of your wounds

Those who try to rewrite history are those who are trying to escape accountability

Some people simply hate you because they have failed to destroy you

Stop letting people who are at war with themselves create so much chaos within you

And yes, maybe you hold on a little too long to those people who no longer deserve you

Simply because you have more good in our heart than they do...

Hard lessons learned should only be like a bruise

It hurts in the beginning and leaves its mark

But it eventually does fade...

It should never be a permanent mark upon you...

Never underestimate the strength it takes to pick your soul up off the ground after a fall

To raise yourself back up upon your own two feet

Clawing back your life with your bare hands everyday without setting the heavy weight down

Those who carry out these actions are not weak...

They are not fragile...

And they are not broken...

They are redefining the word strength by surviving.
