Pause...

Hold the moment...

Stop waiting to feel ready...

Ready is not a feeling, it's a decision

Life is too short not to be brave from time to time

Understand when the lines begin to shift and blur

There is a difference needing to be acknowledged

Nothing can be more corrosive than suspicion where care once held an honoured place

Unfortunately, when people begin to treat you like they don't care...

Believe them...

Some people always seem to abuse the soft spot you have for them

And that place eventually begins to turn hard, releasing its once tender embrace

Those who have harmed you will always seem to create false narratives around you

From experiences, reality, and your character...

This is done because in order for them to be honest about who you are, they would have to be honest about what they've done to you

This is where the realization hits...

Never take the blame for when someone mistreats you so badly that it leaves a bitter feeling within your being

Those dark seeds that attempt to be planted can grow into a raging beast not so easily controlled once it is given life

Take notice in the shift in perspective...

Compromise should not leave you broken every single time and in the debt of another

Sometimes your two cents given, is not the change they are willing to invest in

Which now helps bring this new reality into clear view

Peace of mind is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it...

Beginning to heal from the hurt received, does not mean you forget everything...

It means you hopefully stop bleeding when those parts of you once wounded, stop bleeding when they are touched...

Because change does happen always...

Especially after failure, frustration, or heartache...

Hold the light despite the darkness

Continue to be that person who tries...

To muster up the courage to try and believe in more

Your being is worth every ounce of fight given.
