With my eyes wide open
They gaze upon natures beautiful glory
A gift given within the day
Brought forth with the unwrapping of the morning sun
Dawn breaks the seal
Cresting the mind to whipped peaks of freshness
The realization is made absolute
You awaken curiosity
It can't be taught
Oar in hand...
The canoe glides, slicing through the clear crisp water
Birds fly over head
Taking flight are my thoughts
Long lost...
Reflections glimmer upon the surface of the lake
Rain drops fall gently
I listen to the sweet melody
Its like tender piano music
My eyes fall shut as my mind drifts into random places
Bringing simple thoughts clear
To always just be me
Dare to be
And always dream
Love fiercely
And never giving any of it back
Here in this moment of reflection
I feel oddly safe
And as complete as a person can be
As if I am being swept up in the tender warmth of a mothers embrace
Reminding me that even though its me who holds the pen when I write
Its really everything around me that fuels the ink within my pen
Without all of this-life’s moments-I would merely be
But because I allow myself to be open to that divine connection within
I am...
Here...
This moment...
Forever in a day.
