Another year about to begin

The new promise it ushers in

A fresh start and we begin at day one

A new page within the book of life

Another chapter to write

Naturally, we begin to sum up all the moments

The good with the bad mix together

Lessons learned and mistakes made

Growth within the eyes of the world

We bare witness to this every day

Never underestimate the power of words

A good frank discussion about the adventures had

Honest and naturally true

Let your arms embrace with understanding

Take confidence in the fact that being afraid is to be human

The cost is forever weighted

Life's natural balance

Its fate and its sometimes wicked sense of humor

We love who we love and should not have to apologize for that...

And some people only may enter our world briefly

Leaving vibrant memories in their wake as they leave

Pause within the simple moments and take it all in

So when our mind fails in times of pain and darkness

Acknowledge that we are more than these moments that hold us still

Allow your heart to seek the help it needs

By placing one foot in front of the other

Moving from where you stand, is the act of survival

Its where it takes root...

So when your eyes, heart, and emotions flow over the passed year in reflection

Remember always...

We are human

And this is life...

All that you can ever do is be you

May your confidence stand strong in the face of loss

Because life can be a battle fought

Approach it with vigor and conviction

Give it your life...

Because the reward is life itself...

And at the end of the day when the hours come to rest

Sometimes all you can ever do... is keep breathing.

"The Heart Of Christmas"

Across the empty farm fields and through the trees

The cold winter wind blows

The sweeping rush

And the changing of seasons

Another year will soon be at an end...

As we circle back through the months in reflection

Sorting through the memories

Smile to the happy ones

Shed tears for the bad

And acknowledge the life's lessons learned from those moments that left fingerprints upon us

We pause and give thanks

Proud to be where we stand now

Surviving the battle that can be life

The footsteps within our journey has taken us thus far

And as we look to the path ahead in a New Year

Draw in the strength needed

Fuel up upon the treasures of life...

Family, friends, and love

Because life happens all the time, with... or without you...

The events that shape our days passed is evidence of this

So maybe this Christmas your gift is forgiveness... love, or hope

Extend a hand to those who may be quietly reaching

Because faith is daring the soul to go beyond what it cannot see...

As you remember always...

That the words I love you, I miss you, and I understand can never be said too much

"Never Would I Ever"

Brave or stupid?

I haven't decided yet...

Moments of confliction pass

You lost your second chance to do “us” all over again the first time around

Time did what it does best

Moved on...

No longer do I stand where we came to ruin

My footsteps lead to a better place

One without the secrets and lies

Its a life with freedom of being

Embraced tightly are my convictions

My life waits for no other

Healed are the scars that I once carried within me

From the last time you wheeled a knife

Trying to cut me in and out of various parts of your life...

I've replaced the things that I once gave away to you

Because almost, is never enough...

So when you attempt to re-enter my life

Asking for time, patience, and energy to give you those extra chances

I already know that I...

As well as my happiness deserve better than this

Giving me the strength...

As well as the right to say, “No”

Because never would I ever to that all over again.

The time has come...

A year has come to pass

The days have surrendered to the nights early closing

An end that bleeds the most colourful hues within the sky

Some so bright its as if the horizon was set on fire

While others whither into smokey grays and mix with the approaching darkness

Autumn shadows have come to pass

All the vibrant branches bare

Life hidden in the soil below

Hushed is the growth of the passing season

Awaiting its time

Sleeping through the cold winter months

To spring forth once again.

There comes a time...

When you are forced to make a choice

For your sanity...

Freedom...

For your life...

Just how much will you sacrifice?

How far will you go to hide?

With every lie you kill a part of you a little more

Piece by piece you disassemble your being

Some things in life cannot be undone...

Destruction is permanent

Life altering decisions are made upon a single emotion

Time becomes another enemy to fight

A battle wages within your soul

So much turmoil exists with the corridors of your mind

Nothing can be seen

Darkness within seeps out

It surrounds you

All for what?

To live a lie with shameful conviction?

To be isolated so much that your forever lost?

To abandon your morals completely, just so the eyes that love you cannot see?

Because as the way things go when you live a lie...

It corrupts everything that makes you... you.

These are the days that we are living

These are the moments that keep us alive

And are the ones we will remember for the rest of our lives

Because you will have found yourself upon the point of realization of life

What is most crucial is that you hold your course

Stay true to oneself

Never be anything other than your true being

Because when all else fails

Just be you

Be happy, safe, and healthy

Because a healthier you means a better you

A better you means a happier you

And a happier you means...

Everything.

"Claim To Hurt"

You struggle desperately not to allow yourself to be held hostage to your most recent past

But deliberate actions taken against another

Without consideration...

Never goes well...

You attempt to swallow the bitter taste of almost loosing everything that you are

Your once one true love claims not to want to hurt you more

But she just cannot seem to stop

There is only so much the mind can handle

Before the body begins to physically ache

We are all stories within the book of life

The struggle and the attempt is to be forever mindful of how we would like to be read

You cannot blame other people for your bad choices made

Nor can you build yourself up

By tearing another down

In this moment it may seem that darkness lurks around every corner

Do your best to always seek out the light

Because there is only so much a being can give...

Hope...

Pray...

Wait...

Hold out...

Hang on...

Or with stand

Until they break.
