"Written With Change"

I am standing upon the edge of my world

Looking out at all the rest

Surrounded by all the knowing

The truth finally found

The lies unearthed

Convictions standing strong

Eyes fixed

Emotions torn

And a decision made

Here is the marker in time

Where knowledge becomes power

Love turns to a stranger lost

Struggling for a conclusion made

Words fall short along with a helpless sigh

Tears fear to fall

Would sadness be seen as betrayal in the eyes of anger?

Or is this just another moment that one has to live through?

Here upon the stepping stone of change

I find myself...

Drawing upon the great fountain of words within me

Yet rendered speechless at my tongue

Pain is the emotion that reminds us that we are alive

And real...

Making this the purest realization made

That sometimes when all things fail

The only thing left is silence.

Time will always do what it does best

Move forward...

But you have to let it

Release your steady grip upon the hour glass

Stop counting the lost moments

And all the minutes that have already passed

Be the change that you want to see

Let it take root deeply within you

Feed it

Let it grow

Pick the sweet and tender blossoms

Because measurements of time in life never add up

Its either too long

Too short

Or never enough

So its your choice

Choose...

Take a chance

Win or lose

Be it

Live it

Own it

And never give any of it back.

"Where I'm Found"

Slowly, my thoughts drift with the clouds above

A calming peace has found me

Moments slip from one to the next without much notice

My minds eye has random images of times past, present, and several things that have yet to be

My heart beat marches me forward

Step by step I make my own life

Building everything from something

A life worth living

A being I am truly proud of

Because I am not ashamed of who I am

Happiness has finally found my heart

My soul has found its wings

And I've learned how to fly...

Friendship embraces me

Convictions hold me

And most importantly...

I believe.

"Love In Life"

As the day folds into night

The days last shadows dance across the closed curtains

Music quietly plays

A melody floats through the room

I find myself lost

Deep in the thoughts of you

Consuming all around me

As well as within

Lines are drawn in the proverbial sand for a reason

Some boundaries should never be crossed

Or allowed to be blurred

Because I am now unable to stop the flow

Or heat and passion building

Thus begins the many complications of yielding to temptation

I've tried to turn off my feelings and emotions

Just like turning out a light

The only problem is

Feelings and emotions do not need light to survive

They take root from within

Growing

Born into the presence

And blossoming until picked

Causing me to come to the life changing moment I find myself in

That love is not something that simply happens to you

Its a certain special way of living and being alive

Love is, in fact, an intensification of life

A completeness...

A fullness...

A wholeness of life entirely.

Moments are the thread of time

Sewing memories together into the great tapestry of life

And time will always do what it does best

Move forward

So step wisely

Make everything count

Put passion in each action

Care in every word

Simply do your best to try, always

Because judging a person does not define who they are

It defines who you are

Honor your friends

Cherish the love you have and have given to you

Carry the torch of humanity

Be the bearer of good faith

Be sure you know the difference as you define conviction and convictions

Because secrets have a cost

They never come free

Let the light into the darkness

Live in life

Exist in the vibrant moments

Make them part of your history everlasting

Because some dreams will test us

The stories we live connect us

Some experiences do change us

While 1some choices stay with us, forever

All played out within the time line of our lives.

There is something about loss that takes you back in time

Our minds dig through all the memories and seasons

Searching...

Dreams find us at night when we try to sleep

Stirring our emotions

And upsetting our hearts

Every little detail is replayed

And all of the sadness makes us fall deep

There is something about loss that brings us back

Making it momentarily hard to move forward and stay on track

Just like the changing of seasons...

There is very little we can do to keep it away

Time marches on as it always does

Making sure that these gray moments do not stay

There is something about loss that catches up with you in quiet moments

In those long seconds that fade

But your quiet inner strength will push you

Forcing you to survive the fall

So as the silence holds you

And the world falls away...

Let the wind of the changing seasons blow softly

To that place beyond imagination and reflection

Making one thing certain

That no one can ever change...

Know that your father will always be with you

Here and now...

And in every moment in between

Ingrained deeply within your soul

And alive within every beat of your heart...

"Open Letter"

I'm not perfect

And neither are you

Even the two of us together will never be perfect

But if you can make me laugh more than once

If you cause me to think twice

And if you can admit to being human

To making mistakes

Then I believe we have a chance

I will hold onto you and give you everything that I can

I don't expect you to quote poetry

Or even think of me every moment of every day

I do hope that your promises stay true

And that you think of my heart when you speak and take action

I want to be part of everything that is you

I don't expect any more than I am giving you

So stop analyzing

Smile when you are happy

Yell when you are mad

No matter what, please communicate with me

Miss me when I am gone

But remember always

That perfection does not exist

But there is one person out there...

Perfect for me.
