We just have this one life...

How do you want to spend it?

Apologizing...

Regretting...

Questioning everything?

Refuse to hate yourself for the mistakes of yesterday

Today is brave...

To take the risk and believe in yourself all over again

We all have pasts...

We all have made choices that maybe weren't the best ones

No one is ever completely innocent

But everyday we do get a fresh start

A new beginning to try all over again as many times as needed

To do better now, than we did yesterday...

It may feel like a loss at first before transforming into freedom

But you are allowed to outgrow the version of you who settled for less

We will never heal by pretending it never hurt at all

We heal by admitting it did...

The sad truth is that we cannot connect with those who can only see their point of view

Some people barely know themselves, so why do we pay so much attention to what they think of us?

This is why we should never dim our light for those who are comfortable with hiding in the darkness

Temporary people will always leave permanent lessons behind...

Recovery from pain teaches us the power of perseverance

To be at peace with ourselves first...

Work each step forward as they come

Our voice is our power...

The silence in between our response is our wisdom gained

Stop stopping yourself...

Opportunities are missed when we listen to doubt

You will be exactly as happy as you decide to be...

Survival had turned you into someone who thought you should disappear

Into silence, performance, or control...

But this is you living now...

Remembering that you no longer need to vanish...

You can stay right here...

Where you belong.

Be selective...

Learn to know...

And learn to say no...

Stop abandoning yourself for the acceptance of others

Especially from those who may benefit from your repression, suppression, or imprisonment of your true being

We can be both the prisoner and the key to our freedom

This is why we need to stop taking directions to places from those who have never been in our shoes

We are with ourselves always...

The dark moments of fear and pain...

And all those brave moments where we stepped out into our light again

The compass within our chest is not broken

It's simply asking us to follow our own map drawn before we were told where to go

It's asking us to look a little deeper...

Because the biggest adventure we ever go on is the discovery of us

It is never too late to stop...

Or even change your mind...

Making the decision to choose the betterment of you is worth the effort

It is your road travelled, no body else's

We come to understand the difference in definitions and understandings

That hurt people can hurt other people...

But a healed being can help begin to heal another...

It can be the example or inspiration given

That there is hope beyond this place where you currently stand

Growth is not always a loud thunderous roar...

Sometimes its a quiet widening of the heart of learning

Simply because we have allowed it to be

Free the spirit...

Let loving yourself to win...

Because what you choose matters always.

Pause...

Hold the moment...

Stop waiting to feel ready...

Ready is not a feeling, it's a decision

Life is too short not to be brave from time to time

Understand when the lines begin to shift and blur

There is a difference needing to be acknowledged

Nothing can be more corrosive than suspicion where care once held an honoured place

Unfortunately, when people begin to treat you like they don't care...

Believe them...

Some people always seem to abuse the soft spot you have for them

And that place eventually begins to turn hard, releasing its once tender embrace

Those who have harmed you will always seem to create false narratives around you

From experiences, reality, and your character...

This is done because in order for them to be honest about who you are, they would have to be honest about what they've done to you

This is where the realization hits...

Never take the blame for when someone mistreats you so badly that it leaves a bitter feeling within your being

Those dark seeds that attempt to be planted can grow into a raging beast not so easily controlled once it is given life

Take notice in the shift in perspective...

Compromise should not leave you broken every single time and in the debt of another

Sometimes your two cents given, is not the change they are willing to invest in

Which now helps bring this new reality into clear view

Peace of mind is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it...

Beginning to heal from the hurt received, does not mean you forget everything...

It means you hopefully stop bleeding when those parts of you once wounded, stop bleeding when they are touched...

Because change does happen always...

Especially after failure, frustration, or heartache...

Hold the light despite the darkness

Continue to be that person who tries...

To muster up the courage to try and believe in more

Your being is worth every ounce of fight given.
