Screaming memories call
Clear vision blurs
Tears rain down in
between each wave of realization
Senses reach the point
of breaking
The pulse and surge of
life plays tug-a-war with my emotions
All that was is caught
in up the middle of what use-to-be
Days become markers in
time
Like tombstones of
years and moment put to rest
All etched with times
and dates
Remembrance pays its
due
I am the keeper of this
To define it with my
own meaning
There is no rule to
follow
Or right path to take
All that I know is...
I am not this which
currently holds me still
I am the living proof
of your existence
The honour carried in
heritage
Sunlight to darkness...
Today to tomorrow...
Gives me hope for a
better day
And like a melody once
played
You are recalled and
remembered fondly
So I walk forward...
With you as much as I
do without you
Because sometimes you
can't turn off the salt water rain from your eyes after the darkest
of nights...
And the most terrible
days...
Those tears were meant
for existence...
To fall and to be
experienced for a reason...
Its a final lesson
taught...
An acknowledgment with
grieving.
