Side by side our eyes
watch the final acts of the day
The sinking sun
caresses our skin
Making us glow golden
The sun soon hangs low
and is eventually swallowed by the line of tree's upon the horizon
A shadow grows across
your face
The murmuring wind
mingles through the branches
We lose ourselves in
the inky blackness of the night as it drinks in the remaining light
The broken place inside
of me aches now
As all former moments
of us are robbed of tenderness
A silence like winter
cools me
Nausea slowly washes
through me
Time alters...
Moments suddenly seem
eternal
The question of why you
are breaking my heart echoes in silence
The milk of moonlight
baths my face
Your profile is hidden
in shades of gray
My eyes try to learn
how to read shadows
Your eyes are blank and
flat, as if they are made of glass
Whatever weighs upon
your mind, you speak of nothing
Even though you are
right beside me
You suddenly seem so
far out of reach
And I...
Become only a visitor
to my former life...
