"The Refection Seen"

Eyes search for the answers desperately needed
Shaking hands reach out seeking hope
And salvation...
Confusion fills the unknown
With the actions taken
And the ones yet to come
The weight carried upon the shoulders is crushing
The fear of what has yet to come
And all that will never be
The battle of thoughts wage a war
Another fence drawn
Boundaries between you and all others
Another wall to keep the world out
An endless search for perfection
A dream forever dreamt...
Sadness grips you
Tears flow from your soul
Screams well from within...
Nights and days are filled beyond the darkness with abandonment
Loneliness embraces all that should be
No being is allowed to enter the sacred space
Keeping you held together by tiny pieces of prayer
For you do more living for others that you do for yourself
Moments build...
Adding another brick...
Higher are the obstacles that you now have to climb
Fear grows within the words not spoken
Because you know the forever watchful eye sees all
Yet sadly, the reflection seen deep within the mirror...
Will never be allowed to exist within your reality...

"The Only Thing"

Disappointment...
The bitter sting of let down
Thoughts led astray
Actions not taken
Conviction refused
Promises broken before they are even made
Sometimes some things are simple choices
There is a desperate need for yes and no
Black and white
It saves the heartache and confusion
And can stop a lot of the anger
Tears can remain brave
And not have to fall...
Because even the slightest promise of hope can be seen a betrayal
So do not leave bread crumbs behind you for me to follow
Knowing I fully and completely will
We are human beings
With a heart...
Soul...
Feelings and emotions...
None of which are games or toys to be played with
I'm this moment
I am found
With a decision to be made
To give up...
Surrender...
Or walk away...
Because when I attempt to add up the meaning of us...
The sum of nothing is the only thing made clear.

"Permission To Love"

Beneath the evening sky we meet
The grass, heavy with dew
Whispers underneath our feet as we walk side by side
The night hold us
Guided by the stars above
The moonlight traces your arched brow
It outlines the top of your lip, and the curve of your jaw
Delicately you place your hand upon my shadowed cheek
I feel the presence deep within my core
The touch burns though my nerves
In a moment of possession you pull me close
The fierce warmth surges through my body
Your heart pounds beneath the palm of my hand
I sigh... and yield to your sweet lips
The rapture between us blossoms bright
A peacefulness runs though me like a strong current of water
As I give my head full permission to follow my heart.

"Setting Love Free"

The rain falls gently down upon his pale and mournful face washing away his tears
He walks slowly down the gravel pathway towards the grave
With one foot in front of the other he is forced to move on
The stone stands rigid in a shaded place
The heaviness begins to settle in
Suddenly he drops to his knee's as every ounce of strength drains from him
The church bells ring and echo high above him in the stale air
The rain soaks through his clothes, numbing his skin
The coldness doesn't even take away the pain
He reaches out with his trembling hand and places it on the mound of fresh dug earth
The magnitude of his loss is overwhelming
With his finger he traces out the letters and the date carved on the polished stone
At any time he would trade places with the one who lays silent
The one who lies before him will miss out on the beauty of the light upon this earth
He suffers from the worst kind of pain
He points to the empty sky in anger
He prays for an angel to help him through this
He doesn't want to be alone
He has no one to help him carry his grief and pain
He refuses to cry a tear
He bottles it all up inside of him until it drives him insane
The air is wet and heavy
The tall oak tree's seem to bow down to the tombstones around them
As though mourning all of the fragile souls that have been caught in the hands of fate
He places a rose gently upon the soil
He slowly closes his eyes as memories come flooding in over loading his senses
His will breaks and his tears flow freely down his face
He holds himself in a tight embrace and whispers upon the wind,
"I set you free...so rest in peace..."
