"Killing Time"

So suddenly things have changed

In an instant the world stopped turning

Life wakes you up with an unbearable shock when you finally see who you have become

With everyone obsessed with speed there is less time to treasure the finer things in life

Narrow viewpoints turn into hateful prejudice

Money is spent more and more, and we end up with less

With every convenience brought forth there is a new problem

Lost time diminishes our senses causing people to get angry too quickly

We’ve learned how to rush and rarely wait

No one is on time, everyone is running late

People live their life too recklessly and seldom realize that they have reduced their values

Lying is done too often, so stop talking and just listen…

Start adding life to years instead of years to life

We’ve conquered larger things, but not our inner being

Everyone has taken on hurtful habits that only pollute our souls

Goals are set as we work against ourselves to accomplish nothing

So we end up standing together alone

There is less communication, appeasement, and lower morals

Shorter tempers and steep bets follow shallow relationships

There is no more work involved because everything has become so easy to use

Where morality is thrown away without a second glance

Until there is nothing left to make life and the world to go away

There will be no pills, drugs, or easy fix

It is when the cheering comes to a deafening silence that once again we are left with time to kill…
