"Life in the Making"

A year in review..

When reflection always seems to be looking back...

Almost everything can be understood...

But life must be lived in forward motion

This has been our journey so far...

Pages of stories lived, now are the months in chapters that echo behind us

We are the days written and collected...

Bound together by moments of existence

Our feet lead us to the destination we seek

From fumbles and falls...

And every twist or turn...

It's the path we are walking

Whether it's the road less traveled or never taken

Its creation of a being in the making

Everyday is the promise made...

To have the courage to dare to know and be more

That through self-care our betterment can be reached

Do not be convinced that your intuition is your insecurities

The good carried inside the being is stronger than fear

A scar should never be shameful...

It simply means that you were stronger than what tried to hurt you

To have the ability to speak the words, “I am not okay...”

Is a sign of bravery, not one of cowardice or weakness

Remember the difference...

You are the choice...

Because that which does not try to learn, fails at the attempt of knowing how...

Disallow the continued sacrifice of your kindness

Release the heaviness along with anything that angers your peace

Don't borrow from every tomorrow just to survive today...

Breathe within and through the permission in allowance given

By surrendering to what is known...

Acknowledge that you are a human being doing the best you can

And that you are not the definition of perfection...

Cast your light when shadows try to embrace you with darkness

Feel the heartbeat within, its a beacon calling out to the world

Upon the greatest discovery that is you.

More than ever, we count the moments...

So many pages added together with the emotions of life experiences...

Pages and chapters...

All telling the story of our journey...

There are times and places that still embrace pieces of our being

Lingering in the echoes of when life reminded us of just how precious it is

Our reflection is seen in the mirror of the past

We all have learned lessons...

And we all have lost...

While parts of us recall that invigorating feeling of winning a battle so bravely fought

The victories must be celebrated

It balances out the path of existence

Because sadly, the darkness is always there...

Attempting to steal our happiness...

But the courage always comes in the choice we choose

Own your light...

Let feet lead forward...

As we stand on the edge of this month ending

Just before we transition into the new year coming

Release the weight of twelve months gained

Breathe...

You are the author of the story written

Give yourself the permission to rise up and start anew

Embrace this gift in allowance

Because you are the creator of today's definition

And the hope for every coming tomorrow.

Release the anchor...

Break the circle...

End where ever the beginning starts...

Focus your eyes upon the first step

Realize that most battles are not worth the peace that they steal from you

Know that a being may never be the same after this moment of darkness is cast upon them

Have understanding and care with intention...

Words always speak...

But those who cannot communicate, tend to believe everything is an argument...

Patience will only continue to deplete when we are held within the creation of problems by another

And just because some beings find themselves perpetually lost

Does not mean we need to join them, setting ourselves adrift as well

Pain is not a badge of honour to be carried

It should not be used as chains, anchoring us to the place where we stand

Own the truth...

That self-care and preservation from another is not selfish...

And sadly, it may only ever come when you step away...

Diminishing the hold within power over you

Because their abandonment to compassion is their force to get you to comply...

Please remember, you are worthy...

Even when you are told you are not

It's not called “giving up” when you have tried your absolute best

Because not only was validation denied

So was the freedom from needing it...

Making the final assumption made clear

That loud is not strong, and quiet is not weak

Silence can be powerful...

Remain true to this knowledge of reality...

That you must actively disconnect from this embrace...

Because if you don't...

It will never let you go.

Realize to understand...

How are similarities are not our differences...

That each being shares a likeness with the next...

We all have secrets in hiding

And a pain that no one knows anything about

Yet we carry ourselves through

Because some people have come to know the lesson learned

To be self-taught in the art of compassion

Communication without comprehension is silence misunderstood

It truly is all about perspective

The good news is: everything is temporary...

The bad news is: everything is temporary...

But regardless of circumstance, always remember this one single truth

You are the reason for all purpose in life

Living it is the act of courage embraced

Time is this everyday

Somethings must end for better things to begin

The darkness of negativity will always be there

Gauge what is embraced

Soak in only what is real

Plant your feet firmly upon the ground

Breath...

And allow the exhale to be deep

Surrender to the release...

Own your light...

Find your peace within those things that will never come

Let it be enough...

The only being holding onto your healing is you

The end is where we start from...

With hands shaking, but reaching out

And a voice that is yours to own

Never stop starting again with what you have

What is known will help to set you free

Because it will always be much deeper than what you can see.

Our scars tell our stories...

They are little reminders of places and times...

When life tried to break us, and failed...

They are markings where the choice of survival was made

Pain should not be the excuse for not healing

And it should not be the reason given for hurting others

Own everything that has happened to you

It is your story that is uniquely your own

Become the exception...

Placing blame upon others is easy

Taking responsibility for yourself is empowering

Allow the best version of yourself to be lived

Do it in spite of it all...

Because if all else has already been lost

Then there is noting more to lose...

Choose words wisely

Some can help mend people

While others may only add to their broken

Compassion is an action word

It contains no boundaries

Recognition is the beginning of forgiveness

It is where validation takes root

Plant your being within a place where you were meant to grow

Celebrate the victory achieved within understanding

The being you can save is you

Breathe...

Take this moment...

And then the next...

Embrace the stillness...

Acknowledge the purpose given and the ability to try again

Trust your intuition and allow your feet to step out of the darkness

And shine bright with courageous defiance.

There comes a time...

When that exact moment hits...

An understanding of your surroundings is made clear...

We all have these lines that we do not cross

But then we do...

And suddenly we come to know that we possess some very dangerous information

That you can break this rule and the world will not come to a screaming end...

The once big black bold line is now reduced to gray

And every time its crossed, it fades a little more...

Until one day, you look around and wonder...

Was there a line ever there?

We are the guardian of our being and this is an act that should be corrected

One of our greatest awakenings will happen when we realize that not everyone changes

And that is their choice embraced in this journey we are living

It is not our position within it to fix them...

Beneath it all we to have scars that are not seen

There is parts of a story that never get told out loud

Some see happiness...

While others believe the facade...

Clarity comes with self-awareness

Don't encourage false emotions

Allow them to be felt...

Disconnect the anchor to the past that no longer serves you well

Future is forward

Let the feet lead

Look at the image within the reflection of the mirror

Clear the air and speak the words, “I am not giving up on you...”

Positive or negative...

Understand the difference...

Breathe and believe it to be.

Sometimes nostalgia hits hard...

The mind reflects over the past...

Moments and memories...

Filled with emotions so vivid and real

We find our cheeks wet with tears...

The days passed have added so many years

And still, we do forget our place

Some footsteps linger upon the path behind us a little longer

Our vision blurs...

Some experiences tell us we should unpack our life here

Residing in the middle of it all

Until we even forget ourselves a little

We are human...

Our thoughts impact our lives

Know the difference in position

Success does not mean the final step taken...

And failure is not that they have ceased in movement

Courage given is hope

To trust in faith is to move again

Placing understanding as a foot forward within the journey that is life

Stop attempting to bury yourself here

Disconnect the anchor to what use-to-be

Your presence has power

Take a deep breath...

Clear the air...

Realize the illusion of perfection

The little things do add up

Listen to them as they speak

It's what makes you human

You are a being within reality

Worthy of clarity and understanding

Because constant uncertainty simply causes too much doubt...

Pay attention to when people react with anger and hostility towards your boundaries

Found there is the place where you are overlooked

And sadly, it's where the edge of their respect ends...

Forgive yourself for what you could not see

A good heart doesn't necessarily see all the bad head

Remember and realize that there are limits to what we can do, even under the best circumstances

Learn to change with the seasons...

Giving allowance to adaptation

Letting hope light the way through the darkness

Exist for yourself...

Never forget that this life is yours and no one else's

Your value is not expendable at the expense of others

Especially when it harms you more than it helps

A lot of things may get forgotten or left behind

But at the end of the day...

Please, don't forget about yourself

Because you are the greatest reason for living.

We are human...

There should be no shame in expressing your authentic feelings

And it should never be perceived as a sign of weakness

To feel is to have compassion...

It's okay if you do not feel hopeful every minute of every day

The important part is that you are trying

With best intentions in the making

Trust your process rather than others opinions

Because those who hurt you, should not be able to dictate how you are mending your wounds

Some of the strongest people are the ones who fight a quiet battle that we know nothing about

Don't let people who do so little for you, define so much of your life

Don't let pain turn parts of you ugly...

Be proof that surviving can be beautiful in its own way

Because sometimes we do lose ourselves in the midst of it all

And that's okay, because that is part of learning

By remembering to comeback stronger than your setback

To have courage in being yourself in a world that wants you to be like everyone else

And if the mind always seems to believe everything you tell it...

Then feed it with self love...

Because if you got asked to make a list of things to take care of

How long would it take you to name yourself?

Allow the tears shed to show you the new path ahead

Hope is found after the darkness turns to light

You are this new horizon of tomorrow coming

Understand the choice and difference made

Healing yourself doesn't mean the damage never existed

It means that you no longer give it permission to control your life.

Added together...

That being strong doesn't mean you have to fight every single battle

Sometimes it's knowing the difference

To step back and walk away...

Especially when enough becomes enough

Reality exists here...

It is taught and never bought

It can be manipulated and manufactured

To present itself as something not real

But at the end of it all, you either are, or you are not...

We are the choice

Present today...

Living in memory of the meaning understood

With hope given and embraced

You are not the war trying to knock at the door of your being

Hold strong...

Honour the gift within life that is you

The hardships...

And the lost within grief...

Remember, recover and heal...

Forgiveness may come to pass

But the lesson taught to you will never be forgotten

You may not be able to control someones negative behavior

But you can control how long you participate within it...

Sometimes we have to brave the dark in order to be able to stand within the light

You can say, “no,” and not have to provide a reason or excuse

You do not have to negotiate your value with anyone

Because you are worth it...

Always have been...

And always will be.

Sometimes...

There are moments...

So brief, and yet so poignant...

From the energy of flowing emotions it raises your inner being up

While others completely disconnect you from reality

Leaving you emotionless...

Almost indifferent

We are human...

We listen...

We remember...

And we try to forget...

Some learn easy, while others only learn the hard way

Lessons learned from our making, or taught by others

Remind us of only one thing proven

People have a lot to say about lives they've never lived

Simply because they cannot reciprocate what they have not been given

Or what they wish to give themselves...

Because those who are at war within cannot give you peace

Those who betray themselves cannot give you loyalty

And those who lie, cannot speak honestly...

Making us see them for who they are, and not for who we wish them to be

This is why we must focus on the changes we can make

And that which we can control

Attitude...

Effort...

Choice...

The power is within your hands

Ground yourself before climbing

Plant your roots deep...

People who are able to heal themselves have connected with the spirit within

Defeating the darkness embracing their soul

It's within the allowance given we are able to rise from the depths

Wisdom found becomes strength

It cultivates a spark

Creating a light that shines bright

Which offers inspiration on those cloudy days.

Daily...

We are presented with a choice...

To evolve or remain the same...

There comes this soft and gentle reminder

That not everything that weighs you down is yours to carry

Allow yourself to let it go...

Forget to remember the tainted passion of hate

Live life beyond that moment and into the next

It's our decision made...

Do you remain unchanged and settle for the same thing?

Stuck within a routine of storms and situations that never release you

Until you learn, even a little...

To break the circle of spinning...

Because that is the beginning...

One footstep forward beyond what holds you back

As you venture into the realization made

That you can connect with the strength within

By moving beyond the confines embracing you

This breath taken will lead you into the next...

You will awaken those things that have remained dormant

It becomes a state of mindfulness...

A safe place where our thoughts and actions merge together

As we decide to take them to heart, or let them go...

Because its the difficulty now known

So many of us are willing to extend a helping hand

But we are reluctant to reach out when we need it ourselves

How is it that we have divided the world?

“Those who offer help, and those who need help...”

When in reality, we are and can be both...

Its just that somewhere along the line we confused things

Because of necessity we built walls to keep others out

By protecting what was left within...

And we abandoned healing outside the line.

The sun rises and sets...

Feet move or stand completely still

There is choice in action

Let it hold you back or let it fuel the empowerment within

Because giving love and kindness to yourself is never a waste of time

Change happens always...

We are daily growth

Little by little there is understanding

Authenticity matters more than perfection

Pay attention to the words as well as the actions

Hear what is said, but see how they act

Criticism of life usually comes from those who don't know the price you have had to pay to be where you are now

And sadly, some people wish to destroy you

Just because they recognize your power...

And its not because they don't see it

They see it, and they don't want it to exist...

Which brings us to the moment of realization

How we must unlearn those things that were taught to us by wounded people

Hold space within your being...

Set free the tears...

Let it all go...

There is validation within

You are allowed to take care of yourself

By processing or unloading any or all pain that you carry

Because it all matters

Your pain...

Your truth...

Your experiences matter

Healing yourself matters

Because you matter to this world around you.

Against those who continue to trespass across your boundaries

Because if you continuously give...

There will always be those who take...

Know your limit

Because those who abuse your kindness, don't have any...

Seek the betterment with yourself

Use words to speak differently

Inspire motivation...

Help yourself learn...

Heal the deeper parts within

And realize that their perception of you, is only a reflection of them

Navigate the uncertainty...

Infinite possibilities are not to be fought, but to be something embraced

Be what is known...

Life lived is feet moving forward by refusing to dwell in the past

It's the reminder given daily...

To never stop learning...

Because life never stops teaching

Its either the lesson you needed or the reward you deserved

Appreciate the strength found

That faith and fear oddly enough have one thing in common

They both require you to believe in something that you cannot see.

Moments collect...

Thoughts take flight...

It is said, that above the clouds, the sky is always blue

But it can be hard to believe because you cannot see it

After the rain, the sun does appear

The difference is known to those who understand

But rarely helps those who refuse to learn

Perspective has the ability to change

And faith gives us strength...

To realize and know, that everything can break...

But what is broken?

Is it failure?

Is it everything undone?

Are the pieces laid out shattered?

Maybe we are the pieces mended together making us whole...

Because we are the definition and the meaning

It is as simple or as complicated as not thinking

Forgetting to remember or remembering to forget...

Why do we listen to others so intently?

We must allow ourselves to grow beyond yesterday

This is reality...

Our uniqueness is our very own

Acknowledge the change within

We are allowed the right

Fight back...

Fight for or against...

Do not stand idly by...

We are a collection within unity

Be brave...

Hold yourself high

Bring yourself back from the edge

Be proud of following your own footsteps

Bask within the sunlight and beam your inner glow

Offer no apologies for living...

From this day and coming night

Offer the moon your love of best intention

Because it has been there to, guiding us through the darkness of every night.

Sometimes we break...

And not because we are not strong enough...

But because what we try to carry with us is too heavy...

Or its not even ours to own

Questions automatically ask themselves

There is worth in understanding

Knowing the terms laid out and the expectations kept

Keeps truth within reality

We create our own being...

So why do we allow anothers mismatched definition label us?

There is a right held...

To release that which repeatedly harms you

You cannot be condemned with abandonment, if they are the ones who refuse to hold onto your hand wishing to leave

Why choose argument when they are committed to understanding you...

We validate ourselves...

Every time we choose the light of life instead of darkness

Every time we create a boundary kept

And every time we say, 'no”

Feel the release with everything in your being

There is something intriguing about getting to know the stronger version of yourself

The one that exists on the other side of pain and grief

Surviving is thriving...

If your not accountable for yourself, then who will be?

There is just this one life

Believe in yourself...

Make yourself proud

You have always been good enough

Breathe...

Be brave...

Exist in these moments

Because there is no, “right time”

Just time moving forward

And what you choose to do with it.

It's odd...

How so many words fail at expressing thought...

They always become a little different after spoken...

Changing their intent or position...

Because their understanding or misunderstanding are not realized

Too many times truth is denied reality and covered up with lies...

So pay attention to actions taken

Intentions lead, but proof speaks loudest

Stop invalidating someones hurt...

Simply because you refuse to see that their experience is different from yours

Sometimes we do suffer more...

Because we expected and imagined something different

The most cruelty comes when belief is seen in the negative

When the overwhelming doubt is allowed to become self-hatred

The heart begins to ache under the weight

Shredding itself apart within an emotional hurricane

It drowns within the tears shed

And is deafened by the howling screams of broken

The willingness to hurt is made so simple

Yet the definition of the word has so many meanings

Destroyed...

Shattered...

Demoralized...

Please, clarify the exact meaning

And redefine the narrative...

Letting go is never an easy thing to do

No matter how many times you have rehearsed it or played it over inside your head

Like life, it never goes to plan

But we are choice, despite what we have been told...

There is no promise of later, or maybe one day, or even next time

Life does not wait...

And it may only ever send random fleeting reminders

That this moment could be everything, and it could be nothing

Action is thought in forward motion

Let it empower you or confine you...

Realize that we have our very own purpose

Before any other beings opinion mattered more than our own.

"Options Chosen"

 

Sometimes...

We keep our mouths closed...

Because it's done out of fear...

And if we opened them, we would never stop screaming

There is a balance...

And a heavy weight all placed upon a single point

Waiting...

Hoping...

Or praying...

Because some people seem to wish to break the already broken in another

Which then pushes fear to anger, aching for an immediate release

It's tragically sad...

How people who bully, are toxic and belittle others, will never change

They only alter and change their victims lives

Making the line of eyesight shift...

Some how it starts the belief found that there is truth in all the negative

Reality blends with nightmares

Until the heart runs out of options chosen

Will the realization be made?

That we desperately need to distance ourselves from those who never admit fault

Especially when everything they have done violates every definition of wrong

Is it known to those who are listening?

Just how much respect was held, until they ran your name through mud...

There is no misunderstanding...

To hurt, means to harm...

So with these action now taken

We must do our best to turn away from those people for the sole purpose of survival

Do not succumb to the darkness they wish for you upon baited breath

Deny any sort of supposed truth within the words, “that this life was not meant for me...”

Allow the light to happen always

Release the embrace of where you stand

You cannot rebuild yourself with every yesterday passed...

Motion forward calls you

Feel the calm and peace

And be found here within today's creation

Yesterday...

Was today's hope...

A wish made for another moment in living...

To witness our own creation daily

Because we are this existence

Learning on a forever changing time line

Never deny your capacity to feel

But limit the access to those who wish to use it against you

Do not censor your inner being to appease others

Stop rewarding inconsistency with unavailability

Set free the broken kept...

Shed the heavy weight...

The sharp pointed pieces only cause more harm when embraced

Letting go can mean so many things

It doesn't mean giving up...

Maybe it just means that after all this time you are finally beginning to see

That even without closure, you are worth a new beginning

That sometimes we just simply have to let it hurt

Feel it...

And then release it...

It is not your responsibility to confine yourself to anothers definition of completion

You are not obligated to suffocate your bloom in growth

Because someone refuses to grow with you

It's an intense truth...

But reality knows...

If they wish to destroy you...

Then your survival is offensive to them

This is why pain only creates change within you that you would never choose

But healing creates options you can change with choice

So acknowledge the ability within darkness

Its part of all of us...

But remember always

Without it...

We would never know the possibilities within the light.

Strange, isn't it?

As much as we know ourselves...

We still grant another being full access to our inner core

And we will crumble to pieces every time...

Especially when careless words fall from their lips

Even though they have never lived a second of our life they have spoken of

We listen...

But reality always shows truth

People can't give what they don't have themselves

Reflection is always looking back

Through the remnants of so many moments

The past is now behind us

We are not what use to be

Because healing comes in waves

Like the changing of tides of the seasons

Each layer is a new discovery

Emotions that resurface through the stages of life

We are not defined by the darkness of trauma

Only by our choice to react to it

Survival is light seen

Breathing amongst the footsteps taken

Even when the embrace that holds us exceeds our conscious of understanding

It's what we give and take...

Pain is always the price we pay for growth

That is why we refer to it as growing pains

Exhale yesterday...

Tomorrow calls your name

Acceptance is the realization in learning

That it only ever should be you against you

Fighting for yourself...

By focusing on your own inner voice

Because it's the only one that matters.

It's okay, to not be okay...

Because some days are harder than others...

And you are not where abandonment left you

Remember, some things have to end for better to begin

We must teach our heart to accept things that will not change

Some people within your life will not be happy that your healing

Sadly, they benefited from your brokenness...

So this now becomes your pivoting point of change

There will always be someone with a little more than you

And there will always be someone who has a little less than you

Please, stop comparing...

Otherwise happiness will always elude the search

Life is imperfect, everyday...

Hope comes in many forms and shapes

And strength looks different from day to day

The willingness to change is the act of courage

It makes us a little braver every time

You are allowed to change your mind

Adjust your values and preferences

Daily, we evolve from the being of yesterday

This is your life...

Dark parts of us do exist and they need to be heard

Because they deserve our love too

This is how we journey through ourselves

By not apologizing for the fire of hope burning within

No one gets to decide our degree of silence or servitude

Or dictate your passion of heart...

Courage does not always have to roar loudly

Sometimes in some days it whispers quietly

Saying, “You have done your best, and tomorrow is another day to try again...”

Self-love isn't just an act of self-care

It's also learning to not beat yourself up for not being anything more, or anything less, than who you are now

A human being...

Breathing in and through this moment to the next...

By being okay with where you are now.

Moments gather...

Until the realization is made...

And understanding is finally seen...

That unspoken words begin to weigh a lot

And they usually tend to start speaking for themselves

You cannot control how other people receive your energy

Anything you do or say gets filtered through their lens of perspective

Which more times than enough, is their interruption, and it has nothing to do with you

And more about themselves...

It's the uncomfortable truth

You cannot convince, force or persuade people to understand

To love, listen, forgive or even accept any part of us

People are who they are

And we have options created...

Even if we don't like the choices we are presented with

Some disconnections will bring back quality of life

Because peace of mind carries an uncountable price

Turning the page of this day into the next chapter of tomorrow that always comes

And it is never easy to know that someone won't be there to see it

But like every day, the story does go on...

It's one of our greatest awakenings within the hard lesson learned

Not everybody changes...

Some people will never change...

And that is their journey and position taken

It's not ours to try and fix them...

Because shutting down instead of communicating

Can be just as toxic as arguing...

Stop showing them you will stay for anything

Because that is why they continue to put you through everything

Love should not have to be earned

It's freely given...

Respect is a basic human kindness

We are a being of time moving us forward

The best revenge given, is none...

Heal to the best of your ability

Thrive within the light that is absent of their darkness

So you never become like those who hurt you.

Remember...

Even when you are told to forget...

Your value stays constant, whether you see it or not...

You are not a selfish being for wanting to be treated well

Do not lower your worth or standards to keep anyone

Make them meet you at your level

Self-respect is power...

Understand that each and every one of your feelings are valid

Every single one of them

Even when you are too much...

Or love too hard...

Give the permission to yourself to disconnect from the hate

We should not have to bare every ounce of another beings darkness

We are not the personal graveyard for them to bury their pain in

Abandonment is a cruel form of emotional control

Don't ever apologize for feeling

And when words seem to fail...

Silence always speaks...

And it's a powerful response

You are not a bad person...

But there are some things in life that do break us

And sometimes it makes us do and say things we do not understand

But there comes a choice

When so much attempts to be stolen from us

Safeguard the right for self-preservation

Not all within us needs to be sacrificed at the altar of survival

There still is another breath within your lungs

Because we have carried this ideal with us

Through the years in heartache and happiness

From a new hope found in all the moments in between

Especially now as the balance within life begs for a change

Memories are the strongest link to the past

On the list of things kept within life, make yourself a priority

Realize the difference...

Don't take criticism from a being you would not take life advice from

Because at the end of it all, you are the longest commitment you will ever have

Work the problem or obstacle with understanding

Where you are, is not who you are...

Bad chapters in life can still make great stories of survival

Wrong paths taken can still guide us to a better place

Failed dreams can lead to the successful creation of new ones

Sometimes it takes losing yourself to find yourself

Because as odd as it sounds...

Allow the lesson learned to be able to hold space for grief in loss

We all contain a warrior within

Advocate for the soul of well being

A bad moment or day is never an excuse to use cruelty
