"Made and Chosen"

The steps we take...

On this daily journey...

Are days filled following the sun ...

Each moment coming next, a mystery...

Deep in the heart we see

So many convictions believed

Reflection to motivation

Thoughts run wild and free

Existence is our story being told

The spark within the soul glows through the darkness

Even when storms of anger threaten and blow

We anchor to our roots

Life is always teaching us...

Humble yourself with the wisdom given

The key to learning is the growth from experience

Tears dry...

Some memories fade...

And we will live on...

Counting the horizons seen and the sunsets lost

We are the difference made and chosen

Because forever can be a moment or a lifetime

Truths are told and promises made

“I love you,” is whispered

But, “I hate you,” is always screamed...

Against all odds survival is achieved

Battles of the mind weighs the balance

Clarity from confusion is drawn

The choice is given and the decision is taken

Will you turn the circle once more?

Or be the reason to end the spinning loop?

Because your words will start to lose meaning...

When your actions don't match the effort put forth.

When the world wakes us...

Our feet begin...

With new steps upon this day...

Time is the line we follow...

Moments link us to existence

Daily reminders keep us

Within memories bittersweet we reflect

Chaos to calm...

The beautiful mess of life in all its wonder and pain

We are here...

Creating our dreams within the corner of our world

Reaching out we embrace...

Those things believed in conviction

We are the caretaker of our humanity

And every time we choose self-care

Its for the betterment of our being

It builds self-awareness...

We begin to understand our ability to survive

From our own compassion we learn

Forgiveness is for us...

It does not excuse or tolerate the acts that have trespassed against us

There has to be a boundary drawn...

Limiting the access to the heart of emotions

Its the hard lesson learned of allowance and tolerance

If we allow our inner light to grow brighter...

On those dark days when we lose our way...

We can lead ourselves through the storm

So reset...

Readjust...

Restart...

And refocus as many times as you need to...

Our healing impacts the world around us by bringing inner peace

When we honour ourselves first.

A season...

The reason...

Or for life...

We are this daily motion

Moments gathered and sewn together by time

Reflections of visions seen

Blind some with passionate pride

The depth is always deeper than the surface

Pain is real, avoided, and negotiated

Judgment is cast

A dividing line struck

Between what is right

And what is easy

Terms of surrender are drawn...

Across boundaries that should never have been crossed

Trespassing against peace and the grace of humanity

If you don't know your history...

You will lose sight of your future...

The heart of caring holds out hope

With all the light we cannot see

Even when the darkest shadows are cast

We must be greater than what we suffer

Beyond scripted lines

And the voice of others saying, “This is all that you will be...”

I will not be the hate you give and keep

The truth always echoes through

Each step is a journey

The bitter and the sweet...

Wars fought and battles lost...

It is within remembrance we honour the past

Peace only comes to those who allow it

Will you bear witness to the total destruction?

Or build upon the foundation of knowledge learned from every yesterday

To be able to exist in all the tomorrows to come.

Day breaks...

Change is in the steps we take...

Time leads us forward...

Memories linger...

Reflections upon choices...

Yesterday and tomorrow are the only days we cannot change

What we carry with us, keeps us held to it

Do we release the broken in order to save the pieces remaining?

Letting go, does not mean we are giving up

Strength is found within the knowing

That even without closure...

You are allowed to have a new beginning

Remember, just because we bear it well

Does not mean the weight is not heavy...

Are we attached to it or is it attached to us?

Understand that silence can speak the same language

Just because you are not found within someones expectations

Does not mean you are lost...

The effort is in acknowledging the difference

Raise the bar...

Have higher standards...

Require more...

But also be equal to that what you seek

Passed moments do not define us

We command the energy given

To put forth our existence within life

Shadows will always linger...

Especially when the sole purpose is to cast doubt

There is an intensity within the soul to keep glowing

But like night to day

Light lives...

Not in the absence of darkness

But within the heart of those who believe

Because suffering does not destroy faith...

It refines it.
