"Only Now"

 

We are time...

Here and now....

It's never too late...

Yesterday is the past

And tomorrow awaits

As they say, “nothing is promised...”

Days can be counted

Lost and added...

One can be better than the next

While so many blur into the months that make years

Is it the thought?

Or the choice?

For some...

There is only now

This moment...

A being of worth and purpose

We are this...

The bearer of light given

What we do matters

What we feel is real

What do you wish to treasure more?

Or to be remembered for?

Certain things last...

Others fade into what was not meant to be

Because change is always...

And we make the difference

So breathe...

Become who you are

Experiences lead our feet

A journey upon this path taken

Existence is life with conviction

Because we are what gives it meaning.

A new day...

With it...

Carries the memories...

More of the same

Changed in a way

Each step taken is a moment in learning

We are able...

Time is with us

Embracing the senses

Choices made in the making

What do we carry with us?

Self-preservation is surviving

At what point do you turn away?

When the current path continues to lead you astray

Sharp curves and dead ends...

Heavy hands filled with burden

Make the soul weep...

It's okay to say that you are not okay...

How much does one sacrifice upon the alter of love?

When is enough become too much?

The hard part comes in the knowing

A truth staring you down

You cannot heal a person who keeps using their pain as an excuse...

To repeatedly hurt you...

They burn the bridge in connection

Then ask why your hand no longer reaches out

We have the right...

To forget those who have forgotten us...

It's the attempt to manage the give and take

Because when lies dance with temptation

We realize just how much the truth gets shaded by darkness

Stealing the light of defense

Against that which has become bigger than us

Moving us beyond all care in humanity...

We come to know this...

It's about who makes the effort to stay with us...

Not who simply promised.

Footsteps lead...

Each on a journey started...

There may be no direction

Except for the light ahead...

The hope of the day holds its place

The conviction is a welcomed sight

Not all roads are the straight and narrow

The next hill and bump always awaits

The flow of life carries us...

Memories through seasons are kept treasured

We climb the obstacle...

And fight the good fight

We praise those proud moments of success

And weep for those things lost...

Regrets are unresolved deep seeded emotions

We are not the sum of negative thoughts from others

Its the give and take...

Belief in the better

And the surrender...

To let go of that which is bigger than you

Be the strength in choice

And the realization made...

That some people and some things...

Can stay in your heart, just not in your life...

We are the motion forward

Conquer the past

The heart lives for existence

It's in the awakening of every day

Navigation is in the learning

Give yourself permission to thrive

Be that someone to stay

Protecting the being within...

You control you

Stay in the here and now

And breathe...

It calls to us...

To be present in every moment of our life

It's easy to forget...

That once the heart gets too heavy with pain

Tears become silent

The flood buries us within....

Even in darkness there is existence

The far reaching numb comes close

To that which is held most sacred

There are attempts to lie to ourselves

An easy cover up...

A repetition unfortunately repeated

Attention is not love given...

Blind attachment is not connection...

Bare minimum is not effort...

And one sided interpretation is not fact...

It's an act of war...

The story comes in the telling

Each day present

Not buried with the past

Reflections force us to look within

Layers and experiences build us

And those emotions embraced can strip us bare...

The very best only comes when we have seen the very worst

As we become the difference

Alert and focused at every turn

Even in mistakes and wounds

There is truth in love...

And honesty in weakness...

The savior comes from within

Its acceptance of ourselves

With these lessons learned

In the process of changing.
