"Message To Myself"

I am the lonely...

The abandon...

Seeking reason to answers that I may never know

I am the keeper of hope

A being that mends together pieces of every prayer

Built upon the pillars of conviction

I believe...

Even though you don't...

Actions reach these conclusions

Faster than my mind can sort through my thoughts

A collection of moments gathered

Different and similar

Each one anchored to the same root

Eyes of mindless judgment will always stare

That is why we need to let the light in

We need to be brave enough to do that

Sometimes we need to give love and compassion to another

Even though we don't fully understand

In a world of reinvention, its never to late

Because even a single moment can change a lot

Life happens for you...

Not to you...

Be the person you want to be

Find the power within self-affirmation...

You can do it...

Your gonna be alright...

There is only one single person in your life at all times

And that is you

So remember...

Sometimes we are okay...

And right where we need to be.

"Who Decided?"

Who decided that the world should only be taught in black and white?

When there is already too many unfortunate shades of gray...

Who made the rules that we follow?

Our true concern should not be about breaking them

But doing our best to change them

So what happens if we colour outside the lines?

What if some of us don't fit inside a neat and tidy little box?

What label, tittle, or header do each and everyone of us fall under anyways?

What if we paint with all of the vibrant colours of the rainbow?

As everyone in life should...

Why should we be afraid of ourselves?

Why don't we cherish uniqueness as much as we do sameness?

They always say knowledge is power

But why do some of us choose to stop learning things beyond our line of sight?

Why do we let hate carry such force?

And why does compromise become the last option every time when it should be the first?

Who decided?

Footsteps that falter

Or the wrong ones taken

Serve as lessons learned

Experiences gained

Just because you stumbled upon the path of life

Does not mean that this is your last step taken

Falling down is a part of life

Getting back up is living

A mistake should be our teacher

Not an anchor holding us still

Let it be a temporary detour on the road ahead

Not a dead end

Because happiness is a feeling

Actions...

A choice made...

And a journey to experience and achieve.

Those moments...

The bitter taste of all that was

Cause words to escape from my lips

Wondering if the right decisions were made

I guess that is where regret usually begins

Visions of memories reflected upon

Plague the minds eye

Empty space within my heart call with longing

The fire within burns with conflict

Because in the end...

I could not afford the cost of loving you

In this hour of time

I break my steadfast resolve

That missing you comes in waves...

And right now...

I am drowning.
