"Hear My Repetition"

Still...

Even in this moment...

You have not heard the words I have spoken

So hear my repetition

I know my own worth

I've paid dearly for every ounce of it

With blood...

Sweat...

Tears...

And almost with the very life force keeping me here

So hear my repetition until you actually understand

I will not tame myself to fit in to the box you wish to confine me in

Or the label you wish to place me under

I will not surrender my being to suit your view

These words are my repetition

No one is perfect

We are all continued works in progress

Traveling on our own journey

So when you ask me to take a step back from the well won fight

To dim the brightness of my light

Yes, it does offend me deeply

And everything that I have come to be.

"Selfish Request"

Seconds merge into moments as the silence draws together your life

Because everything before these last few days seems but a memory

It wasn't long ago you were beating down your own path of life

Step after step you were building into the future

But the longing truth was something that could not hide from you

Footsteps now falter and slip into sorrow

Days gone by do nothing to ease or erase the pain

And the continuation of the heartache to come

Fragments of yesterday are now to hard to recall

Your stuck here, in this life draining seconds

As the once bright eyes of love grow cold

All colourful happiness is tainted in shades of black

Suffocating the warmth within your heart

You feel the sharp stab of life that comes with the realization made

There is no going back

All that there is left now is a stranger that you use to know

The tension of the atmosphere wants to make you run away from it all

Because you won't just simply surrender

You have to forcibly hold yourself back against your will

Because it takes one hell of a man to be a better man

Than no man at all

And if you don't draw the line, then there won't be one for everyone else to cross

Maybe some day, mixed within all of the random possibilities

You will understand

But right now...

At this second, and many yet to come...

You don't...

All you want to know for your well being

Is the one word that forms the never-ending haunting question...

Why?

"The Moments That Change"

Sometimes...

Time turn back another page

The mind circles back through reflection

Wondering what could have been...

Or should have been...

Sorting through the moments lost

And coming to realize that our being is right where we are suppose to be

Hope is a warm colourful light that we all should feel and see

Change should be embraced

And we should let it embrace us

Taking a chance on life is a new step forward given

And I am ready to take it.

Its that single moment of something new

A promise...

Hope given...

Chances wouldn't be what they are if we were not brave enough to take them

An eagerness pursues the space between two souls

The warm and swift uplifting rush floods in

Its the little things...

That are not so little...

The connections made sewn together

Illuminate the light growing from within

Here begins the life of a new day

Under the lightest of touch

The sun rises

You lose your breath

Eyes hold the motion as they enter the room

Your heart beats faster as they walk towards you

Skin tingles as you stand close enough to feel their breath upon you

Making you realize the true meaning

Is one moment merely just that?

Or is it 60 seconds of endless possibilities?
