"Fail To See"

Words linger

Moments pause

I look upon the person before me

I wonder how these feelings have come to pass

That the face I see belongs to someone I use to know

Vision blurred

My eyes fail me

I am unable to pin point exactly where things changed

Like a lot of things in life

If its not suddenly...

Then its so gradual

You barely notice

Maybe its something I chose not to truly see

Never-the-less, I am found here

Searching for the proper action to take

Emotions are heavy

Bonds of friendship flex

They are about to show their true test of strength

My words fumble...

My hands can barely hold onto the change

Stronger labels such as hate need not apply

Though I am fully disappointment with you turning into everything you said you would never be..

Conversations have turned

You now talk at me

Instead of to me

And fail to see the difference there

As I remind you once again...

Acceptance is nothing without acknowledgment.

"Spirit Of Christmas"

As the seasons transition from one to the next

We find ourselves here

Another year soon gone

A new one about to begin

Time continues to do what it does best... move on...

Days and months have merged together

So many moments of life gathered up

Adding to our memories

Golden treasures of the heart

Keeping the soul warm and our life rich

This holiday season reach out to those who may be reaching

But are not brave enough to ask for a helping hand

Mend the broken bonds torn by pride

Reconnect with those we have passed by upon the path of life

Take a few moments for yourself

Breath...

Reflect...

To do those things you rarely do

Make a promise to yourself and others

To laugh more

To smile

Find inspiration in the little things

Because they are usually the first things we forget

Let the spirit of Christmas fill you

Count the blessings of life

Honor those who are no longer with us with deep remembrance

Stand united and celebrate as one

Pull into you the warmth, happiness, and light

Peace to you this twenty-fifth of December

Mixed with laughter and special times

Shared with family and friends

"The Line Of Life"

We are the sum of all the multiple choices we make

Some day to day

Others for survival...

A few others are not so easy...

The daily grind can hit you hard

A few steps may turn into a climb

Footsteps may falter

When your pushed and pulled to the brink of madness

The edge of no where appears

Numb to the core

And a cure seems so out of reach

You will grasp onto anything to calm the emotional hurricane raging within

As you desperately look for a mast to anchor yourself to

To throw a block underneath you

Anything to stop the erosion

With remembrance and survival in the fore front of your mind

Life is worth the fight

Let the guardian angel above you embrace you

And the devil within release you

Be part of the many movements that are life

Around your heart is where you should draw the line

A safe guard, just in case

Though be forever mindful not to put more barriers or road blocks in the way

Be proud of the person you know yourself to be

Please do not hate yourself to be loved by another

Because if you leave life to others to live

Happiness will be forever fleeting

Fix and create your own

And you will know the path to take

Learning some of the life lessons you need to know along the way

We are all stories in the book of life

Think of how you would like your life to be told

And to be read.

"Ever Mindful"

The day is done

The sun has set

Time for me to rest my weary head

My mind drifts over the many moments of the day

Lost in reflection...

Many things come to mind

Both in realization

And thought

Somethings happen for us

Others happen against us

There are so many things I know for certain

With no doubt or fear

I am proud of the person I know myself to be

I have passion

I have reason

We all keep certain parts of ourselves hidden

Secrets locked away deep within

Sometimes there are very select few who actually get to see all of us entirely

Hence why we must manage our choices with care

How they affect ourselves

And how they affect others...

To be ever mindful with remembrance

As yesterday becomes today

Today is another day awaiting to be lived

And tomorrow is where more memories can be made.

"Becasue We Care"

Sometimes silence can be the loudest sound

We can either hide in the shadows

Or put forth a fight

Standing in the light...

We are the keeper of that choice

Sometimes all we can ever do is be present

Be there for a person

Because there are things in life that we do automatically for others

Not for reward, special treatment, personal gain, or even asking for something in return

We do things for others because its the human thing to do

Its the right thing to do...

And we do it because we care

So reach out

Hold onto those who are near

Friendship is the bond that helps keep us sane

Saving us from a many of things in life

Be forever mindful

Always.

"Weight Of Life"

We all hide something deep within us

Sometimes its from others

Or its from ourselves

It may carry a deep truth that we are not ready to hear

Even though we bear the heavy weight upon our shoulders

We endure...

Is it fear that drives us?

Or is it something more

Whether its past or present

Life cannot be avoided

For it is for the living

A decision has to be made

Are you hiding?

Or existing?

Moments have come and passed

The months have been counted

My steps have moved forward

Letting what has been fade into the rear view mirror of life

Change has come

Time has found me here

With strength

And the will of survival

It took me a long time to move passed “us”

Even longer to pick myself up from the place you left me...

Some times we only have one chance to do things right

And when things fail...

A marker is made in history

Never to repeat those feelings and emotions again

We all unfortunately except the love we think we deserve

Rather than what we actually need

We are not perfect people...

Hence why we are always continued works in progress

From love...

To something once treasured...

You are now nothing more than a fellow traveler in life

And honestly, I wish you well

Making this our last interaction

Heed this realization with thought

Take with you the wisdom in these words...

Choices are options...

Making decisions is reality...

Finality...

Life.

"Found Proud"

Though darkness has found you

These are merely moments in time

And they to

Like all moments...

Shall pass

For I believe in you as you do in me

You have the light within you to fight the shadows

Everyone makes mistakes

Sometimes the same ones more than once

But we all learn eventually and move on

And everyone else can hopefully move forward with us

Or they will find themselves part of the past where we no longer live

So be proud of the person I know you to be.

All in a matter of moments

Everything in life fell

Striking suddenly

As fast as lightening

And as quick as an exhaled breath

Thoughts now stand dark

Years worth of memories stream down your cheek

Tears wash through the ruins of what use to be

Numbing the senses

Stripped bare

The sweetest kiss now rots in your mouth

You pray for your cause

To find the path your feet may take next

Everything is here and now

In this moment of living

Nothing reminds you more of existence than this

That getting the life kicked out of your lungs

Shows them how much they love the sweet taste of air

In hope there is belief

Belief breeds conviction

Fight back against the darkness and shadows 

With the light carried within you

"Heart Beat Reason"

Some days there will be darkness

That does not end with the night

One can only hope that a new dawn will be born upon the horizon of life

So your eyes may see a better view

Let it speak to your heart

Sparking new thoughts

That these difficult times is change disguised in another form

Though weak with weary

Your will is strong

Drawing strength deep from your inner core

From the being that makes you you

Whether you break it up

Add it up

Divide it all

You still have you

And those who support you always

So if there is any doubt of what needs to be done

Or what holds you to this life

Place your hand over your heart

Feel the beat and rhythm

Purpose is held there

And that is all the reason you need.

Hopes and prayers

Chances and risks

Time is strange thing

Fear is a beast hard to tame

Limits of the imagination are endless

Hope can be something difficult to keep safe in your embrace

Life is well worth the battle it takes

For on the other side of the negative

Positive awaits

We all deserve happiness

To live within every vibrant moment

Basking within the warmth of the sun
All it takes is chance

As difficult as the moments that have passed have been

The moments ahead are the rest of your life

What matters the most is how well we rise after well fall

That life does not end after a wrong path taken

Experience good or bad is knowledge gained

Anything done for the betterment of ones self is always worth the effort

Sometimes you can lie to yourself without even knowing it

That you allow your possibilities to close up

Making the road a little more narrow and rough

Because as you look around..

Even your face has become a reflection of someone who you use to know...

Time waits for no one

To have happiness, you first have to allow it

We are all stories within the book of life

Remember...

Think of how you would like to be read

Because when you fix something

You get to know it inside and out

When others do it...

You learn nothing

And nothing can be gained without a step forward in a decided direction

So remove the heavy weight from your shoulders

Liberate your world

Let it be a victory within your life

Because when all else fails

Redefine the definition.

"Better Balance"

In life we strive for balance

Even though it may never be found

We try our best

Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept the things that your mind already knows

Making the pain linger

To seep a little deeper

But as hard as it is

You make the choice

Before the choice makes you

Because no sacrifice is so great that you have to leave yourself behind

Never do you have to chase after bread crumbs left behind

To lure you in...

Or hold you close

We all deserve better than this.

My deepest wish for you is to be happy

To be content with your state of being

As much as one can be

I want you to see yourself as I do through my eyes

That there is a being of great worth standing before you

See past the blurred reflection

Seek out the source

Find the root at the core of your being

Feel with your senses

Be brave enough to let life in

Hold true to the things you know

But allow room within yourself for the possibilities of new

Believe in yourself as I do in you

As you remember always

That I will be right here by your side

Holding your hand

Embracing you true

And standing by you all the way through.

Sometimes...

As hard as I may be

You can't always be the bigger person and rise above

Sometimes, you simply have to surrender to the silence

And let chaos pass you by

Because the pressure deep inside of a being can only build so long

Silence is a barricade in front of help...

Pain needs to be released...

No sacrifice is so great that you have to leave yourself behind

Center yourself

Breath...

Be still in this moment

Exist in every vibrant second

As you you live through your senses.

How do you define something that really doesn't have a name?

And when such passion is directed at the negative?

Who is the one who loses?

I guess there are some things in life that you simply cannot explain

Only one thing is for certain

I refuse to play the part you set up for me

For I am not the one to blame for your poor choices made

Your actions where taken by your hand

And your hand alone

You sought council in me

Discussions were made

The power was within you

To turn it around...

And now...

That your plan has failed you

Bitterness fills your words

A pain calls you to darkness

Sadness pulls

Causing you to turn away from friendship

The blame is pointed

A heaviness hits hard

Desperation and loneliness floods in

You attempt to bring those who care for you the most to their knee's

To suffer along side you

As you resign yourself to this drastic motion

Abandonment will come to those who refuse to carry you...

"All In A breath"

Suddenly...

That moment...

The realization hits

A single tear falls

Betraying my will to hold it in

Emotions do their best to flood my senses

The sharp edge of a gasp

Like shattered glass

Steals my breath

A steady silence comes calling

A still embrace

Light fades...

Lost within the darkness that has moved over me

It wears like a heavy blanket

The truth chases away any lingering happiness

No sense in asking questions

When all that follows are lies

This, simply put...

Is an ugly part of life

Breaking something that once was solid

Pulling the thread that has come loose

Watching a beautiful tapestry woven shred

Eaten away by the acid of words not spoken

All vanishes before the waking eye

As communication breaks

So do the heart strings supporting itself

Piece by piece chaos digs its claws in

Holding hostage the life I had come to know

With such heartache

It seems like life now solely exists upon the head of a pin

I have to remind myself to breath easy

To pull in the calming air

So I don't lose myself with in my thoughts

And be consumed by the deeper parts of such twisted darkness

I force myself to pause

Hold tight to my being

And exhale slowly...

"Life Committed"

Life is not the easiest thing to commit to

It has its moments that test you

Bend you...

Yet, you do not break

You survive

Because deep down you know that giving up only seems easy

Because its surrendering

You remind yourself to be stronger than hate

Looking back often brings you back

To the beginning of a moment

Personal safety should not be an option

And one should not view it as such

We are all creatures of habit

But when said habit denies us human connection, respect, friendship or love

Its time for a moment of pause, reflection and decision

Live your true truth

Be not afraid to ask or say the words, “I need a friend”

Fight sad tears with laughter

And laugh until you are in tears of happiness

Simply be the best you
Remembering that people may forget what you said

And what you did to help them out

But people will never forget how you made them feel

So lead with best intentions

Love

Friendship

Hope

And faith

As you lay down your foot prints upon life

And exist.

Faded

Shaded

Bold

Connection links together a vision with creativity

An unseen muse

Art in the making

Sculpted by thought

By emotion

With subtle curves

Sharp corners

Twists and bends

Life is added

Details perfected

Lines become fluid

Finding the balance between darkness and light

To keep treasured

Or forever erased

Are all thoughts in motion

All upon the tip of a pencil.

With lips quivering

You ask...

Please hold me tight

Embrace me like never before

I feel so lost...

Some days emotions almost consume me

Because how do you carry the weight of the entire world

When you only have to hands?

I try my best to tell you that life is a balance

Positive

Negative

Happy

Sad...

Maybe you spend more time on one side than the other

But life is full of change

The hands of time are always moving

Sometimes, dreams are not made, but won

There will be times, what comes to pass is not what you envisioned for yourself

But it ends up being better than what you could have asked for

Smile at the fact that I get to see the real you

And it doesn't scare me

It makes me want to embrace you

Remembering always

That there is a world beyond these difficult moments that hold you here and now

And its called life.

Like anything new in life

You're cautious

You warn yourself

Trying to prepare for anything and everything

You anticipate the new moments

The rush of excitement

You wait upon baited breath

As you exist through your senses

Within every vibrant moment

Because there is no better feeling

Not to many things in life are clear cut

Many are faded

Blacked out

They scream to be unearthed

While others have sprung forth to the light

Basking in the open air

Taking in the full range of life’s emotions

Life is complicated

We cannot avoid it by not living

The fear of love should not prevent you from feeling it

Yes, there are simple moments

Embraced with tenderness

Enforced by warmth, pure joy, and laughter that holds you

But if the world was all that easy

It wouldn't be the reality we know

And honestly, I don't think it would be worth living

So when words can't be spoken

Let actions speak for you

Simply try to do your best

Because when communication falls

No one likes to be abandoned

Or left behind

And no one likes that feeling of hunting someone down

When they are doing nothing to be found

So be here

Now

We are this moment

As hard as it is

Live it

Because life is filled to the brim with so many different moments

And some of them can happen so suddenly

That they take your breath away.

It begins all upon a thought

A whirlwind of action

Like a thunderstorm breaking

Or a hurricane breaching the the shore line

The dark clouds part

The sun shines bright

Darkness and light mix together

All at its peak

The surge...

You wrestle it down and the words begin to flow

Quick and swift

Smooth and hard

Beaten, raw, and bleeding

Softly, elegantly they assemble themselves in order

Like building a rose peddle

Or constructing a great tapestry of your being

The soul broken open

Existing purely within the moment

Words travel from head to hand at lightening speed

Words harsh

Words of scorn

Or a sweet love

And tenderness

Some how these movements make sense of it all

From beginning, middle, to end

You know that these words are your own

And you are better off for writing them

For experience learned

To live the truth within

Seeking the wisdom they embrace

And to own every ounce of them.

"Shadow and Light"

Heavy thoughts collide

Forming cross roads in my mind

Emotions well up...

Tears build...

My heart is like pendulum swaying between what is right and what is easy...

I struggle to choke down the lump growing within my throat

Desperation pushes upon my core

My feet scream for action

They wish to place once foot in front of the other and run

I'm torn

Head spins

Stomach turns

I hate these moments that seem to last forever

All upon a single second...

But I stay where my feet are planted

Forcing myself through

Struggling...

Fighting...

Holding my breath until the next

My eyes silently scream at the reflection in the mirror

Because when there are shades of gray seeping through your life

It becomes difficult to tell the truth between what is shadow

And what is light.

While we are still yet alive

Its better to make the change or choice

Rather than waiting for life to do it for you

But without action

The promise of, “it gets better”

Or “I'll make it all right” means nothing

When wrongs go on unchallenged

Conversations are forever left filling in the words of those absent

With remembrance

Keep in mind that comments and remarks take on many different shapes

Always be sure to check for pointed arrows

And that it to is an act that should be done in moderation

Choose compassion before judgment

Make the call...

Sometimes, in life, we have to be brave

To stand up for ourselves, and others

Because we are more than a victim.

"Save Your Sorry"

Keep them all

Its one thing I don't need anymore of

No more apologies from you please...

I've got “I'm sorry” greeting me everywhere I go

They linger around every corner

There are ones leftover from the last time those words fell from your lips

So when I ask you...

Please don't...

You can keep your “I'm sorry”

I have so many

They have piled up

I trip over them as I am trying to walk away

I need to throw some of them away

At one time I use to hang onto them

Now, I simply just want to let go of them all

I'm gonna put a sign upon my front door

Because I don't want or need them

I let “I'm sorry'”and “I didn't mean to” soothe me once

But no more...

Let your own “sorry” hold your heart

While I tend to mine

You've beat me to death with “I'm sorry”

I'm black and blue and so very tired of you...

I once loved you on purpose

I was open...

Living and sharing everything of me on purpose

Taking in everything that is you

And I have now found myself at the end of this road before me

So take all of your guilt, lies, and stories with you

Please do not give anymore to me...

Because I cannot use another “sorry”

Anymore....

Sometimes enough is enough...

Sometimes, enough is already too much

Its not about being right or wrong

Sometimes it comes down to strength of conviction

And the principle of it all

Making me ask you

If you have to ask the question, then you probably already know the answer?

I have tried, and I am trying

I will always try

That is the best that I can do

But when promises break...

Expressed wishes are broken

Taking action only seems like a call to arms...

And when all words fall short and fail

Lost boy...

Here you are again

Found lost within

The time has come for you to repeat yourself

A page in history is being relived

The pain...

The upset...

And the damage...

Another choice made upon a whim to throw yourself to the wind

Planting temporary roots wherever you land

A home...

Companionship...

A career in the world made

Lost boy...

Here you are again

With unsettled feelings

Turmoil growing

Eyes searching

Possible new destination found

Far away from where you once last embraced your salvation

The page now rips

Do you rewrite or erase?

Bringing back the hand of time to zero

Devastation is brought to those who share and believe in your life

A new world shortly lived is now deceased

Lost boy...

Here you are again

Saying goodbye to the life you just grew

With words failing

No description is really ever made

Making all actions seem sudden

Instantly breaking all terms agreed upon

Leaving abandonment and the deep seeded emotion that you don't care within your wake

The time to move on is pushing upon your being

You pick yourself up

Taking a single swift breath

Setting out upon another quest

An adventure never really found and a craving that is never satisfied

Lost boy...

What are you truly looking for?

Have you forgotten that you are the needle within the compass of your heart?

Has your sight failed or are your senses tainted?

Because the same life you just lived

Is now due to repeat itself all over again wherever your feet land.
