"Christmas for You"

Here we are again
As December 25th approaches.
Another year has come and gone
Hopefully filled to the brim with the kinder things in life;
But then, the world would not be the same without a balance of ups and downs.
Change is always upon us,
So let the stress of the past year fall from you
Like tiny snowflakes drifting.
Let the release soothe you.
May the holiday season lift you up,
Sparking a celebration that will last well into the New Year.
Remembering tenderly those who have gone before us,
Let peace flow through
Because where there is a spark there is will
Where there is a flame there is hope
And a fire growing to start anew.
So take a moment and do something for yourself.
In the bustle of life, extend a helping hand to those who are reaching.
Live a rich and full life.
Do your absolute best to exist,
Live in every vibrant moment,
And live Christmas for you, the way you see fit.

"Not Broken"

The words that soak into our ears are whispered, not yelled

So I will speak quietly and tenderly to you

Every minute matters in this world where you reside

I can only try to hold you

You are the one who has to let me embrace you
Though your heart is in tatters

And your pride nurses its wound

Let the darkness take flight and hide nowhere withing you

Making all illusions scatter
Before this incoming tide of tears drown your ability to love
Complicated is a luxury you cannot afford to have

Move beyond these impossible moments

In the root of that effort is how you will survive

And I will continue to remind you always

That some things in life can be broken beyond repair

But you are not one of them.

"Is It In You?"

Does this darkness have a name?

Why does this cruelty and hatred that exists in our world seem to take up such an important place?

This darkness is cold, empty, and completely unforgiving

Does it simply steal into our lives or do we actively seek it out and embrace it?

This kind of being does not naturally exist within us

This way of being is taught to us ever since the tender age of innocence

What happened to us?

What has happened to us?

That we now send ourselves-our children-out into this world like we send so many young men and woman to war

This darkness looms over us...

Waiting and praying to find a weak point on our surface or in our lives so it can seep its way in

Its always there, hiding in plain sight?

Nobody tries to understand anymore

Hate has almost become a value that everyone holds so dear to everything that they love

With hope and faith failing...

We have come to realize that some of our loved ones won't have a safe return home

We willingly know that so many will be lost along the way...

When did we become so lost?

When did we lose our way?

We have become consumed by the lurking shadows

We have been swallowed whole by the darkness

This darkness continues to breed in the stale air around us

With each act that is taken against humanity by another human being

We are forced further down into submission and to the most unfortunate irrevocable end

Does this darkness have a name?

Is it in you?

Is it your name?
