"Every Ounce of Fight"

How dare you cast shadows upon her

Making fear rain down around her now crumbling life

The amount of second guessing almost out numbers her tears

A sweet and tender soul is filled with endless doubt

Most rational thoughts are forgotten

She is treading water in the place she has been now anchored to

Her strength drains rapidly

Every ounce of fault weighs down

Fighting to keep her head above water

She is reminded by those who love her

That she should not let anothers regrets become her mistakes too

She is better than this

And she deserves more than this

Than the partial paltry sublime after effects of a great love broken

So fight against every moment

And every memory...

Gain one foot up upon everything that has fallen at your feet

Pull yourself out of the deep darkness

And back upon the path that you are still creating

Be the leader that you are searching for

Because sometimes the scares that we bare are only there to serve as reminders as to just how strong we are

Because we all must remember

While following our hearts we must do our best not to fall apart along the way

So give everything that you can give to life

But never forget to live.

"Dawn Is Breaking"

Time seeps through silence

As mornings gentle glory begins its steady rise

A broad curtain of pale gray fog covers the countryside

Ethereal and thick it obscures the daylight

A sweet perfume of pine, cut grass, and a soft rain pervades the air

A calm stillness is everywhere

Tall tree's, like dim dark statues stand rigid in the shadows

A strange beauty lies upon the land

A thousand birds make their song

The sun smiles down with a face of gleaming gold

And draws the curtain upon the world for our eyes to witness the wonder

Colour spreads through the darkness

Leaving us a scene before us to behold

Listen to the rich growth of the earth

Everything is alive and breathing

Dawn is breaking.

"Expression"

Words spoken, provoked thoughts

Volumes after volumes

Chapter after chapter

In each phase of our lives we find a common thread

It binds us together in moments of poetry, philosophy, literature, and wisdom

We abdicate our youth

But not our power of imagination

We talk like long time friends

A tapestry of conversation is sewn together over the hours

Collectively we all join in

Feeding off of one each others creativity, uniqueness, and knowledge

Self expression is everywhere

A lyric in a song

A rhyme in a poem

Talk of today...tomorrow...and yesterday

Experiences shared with a touch of innocence

Openness. Honesty. Defying the norm

We defray societies expenses

Irrational thoughts and absolute truth

We are not the ones who sell our souls

It is a cost that we are not willing to pay

Nothing but the truth

Convictions. Religion. God?

Where do we fit in?

Rhymes. Reasons. Life

Where to begin?

We annihilate seeds of hate

We bring an end to perpetuating stereotypes

We stand up and claim our independence

Boundaries crossed

We expand that invisible line

We look to ourselves

We are more alike than we are different

Sex. Love. Orientation

Choices made to strengthen yourself

We abhor those with shallow views and narrow mindedness

Finally we find people with the same ideals

Open. Honest. Unashamed

We are glad to share stories

We open the book to our lives

We read a line or two addressing the truth

Words of sophistication diminish unpractical theories with banter

We play on the edge, emulating the great thinkers of this world

We look into ourselves and then out to the world

Friendship in a moment...maybe years

Imagination. Expression. Self-identification

Be who you are and set your true self free

Show the world your knowledge

Remember past mistakes

Remember all of the history

Feed your mind and senses everyday

Emotional high. Ambivalent to religion

Suffused with convictions

Open your imagination

Open yourself to experience and express yourself in any and every way that you can

Don't simply live your life

Do your best to exist!
